Russian literature in seventeenth century gradually got rid of the limitation of the religious norm and went to "secularization", the satirical story with new plots and fictional characters began to enter the reader’s field of vision. All this allowed us to write a glorious page in the history of old Russian literature.The satirical story of the seventeenth century refers to Russian bureaucracy, religion and all aspects of social life, presenting the condition and situation of Russia at that time, which consists of a deep practical significance. In addition, writers-satirists of the seventeenth century shaped a series of vivid images, whether the greedy officials or poor alcoholic, they don’t only enriched the Russian literary figures gallery, but also offered as reference a great number of images for later authors. When it comes to creative method, writers-satirists of the seventeenth century borrowed the methods of folk oral literature, showing the readers a picture of the absurd and funny society with a variety of rhetorical devices, such as parody, hyperbole, etc. By these satirical stories the writers want to let the reader to laugh and convey their opinions.In this paper author selects seven satirical stories in the late 17 th century as the research object, from the perspective of history and culture to analyze themes, images, and creative features, to explore the artistic value of the satirical literature in the 17 century.
