Human transmission usually USES two means;One is language,the other is non-verbal.In the process of cross-cultural communication,language plays a major role,but non-language cannot be ignored.Nonverbal communication plays an important role in interpersonal communication.From the perspective of intercultural communication,this paper use larry A.samovar,Richard E.Powter nonverbal classification theory and Edward T.hall's theory of language environment,in eastern and western countries to 13 to 14 century Mongolian area vendors of missionaries,angel and the travels of records as the research object,by analyzing "otherness" in the eyes of the usage of Mongolian language environment and the expression of cultural value orientation.Because the travel book is the cross-cultural communication result of the author who created the"same culture" readers for the same cultural background.This paper consists of three parts:introduction,text(chapter one,chapter two,chapter three)and conclusion.The introduction mainly includes basic information such as topic selection,research object,literature source and research method,research purpose and significance.The first chapter introduces the current situation of non-linguistic research at home and abroad,and explains the concept of environmental language.The second chapter,east and west of the 13-14 century,Yelvchucaii's "Westward Journey ",Traavels to the West of Qiu Chang Chun","The Journey to the North",Zhao Gong's "The Mongol Tatar History",Peng Daya and Xu Ting's "The Black Tatar History","Zhang Dehui's Notes on a Journey North of the Ranges,,Giovanni da "Plan del Carpine's Mongolian Travels",“William of Rubruk Mongolian Travels","Hutom Mongolian Travels",King of Little Armenia,To Mongolia and Back and Rustichello da Pisa's"The Travels of Marco Polo",and,Odoric of Pordenone's The Travels of Friar Odoric":and so on 11 of travel notes recorded in the east and west in the eyes of the Mongolian environmental language application,a tabular form classify and analyzed.In the third chapter,through a comparative study of Mongolian three kinds of environmental language in the eyes of the East and the West,namely the use of time language,spatial language,and silence,finds out the cultural value orientation of the Mongolian environmental language in the eyes of the Chinese and western in the 13th and 14th centuries:The ancient Mongolian environmental language in their eyes only focuses on the starting moments of all things;has a power distance and focuses on the center in the ues of space;the belief of the sun facing residence;the use of informal space,the greater the power distance,the farther the seats are apart,and so on.There are differences between the East and West in the following aspects:1.The Western Travel Notes recorded the time language,spatial language,and silence of the ancient Mongolian environmental language,but there is no silence recorded in the Chinese travel language,and there are few examples of time language and spatial2.In the eyes of the East,the ancient Mongolians measured time in terms of the change of the natural environment but the West had a desk calendar.3.In the eyes of the West,the Mongolians have a multi-directional time value orientation.In the eyes of the East,they have a one-way time value orientation.In the eyes of the West,the ancient Mongolian people have a current and future value orientation,but they are not recorded in the eyes of the East.5.In the Eastern vision,the ancient Mongolians had cultural value orientation about the right differences for the horizontal space,while the western vision reflected the differences of rights and gender.6.In the eyes of Western travelers,the ancient Mongolians' Emperor and Queen sat on the upper seats on the use of vertical space and the officers sat in the front seats in the East travelers.7.The ancient Mongolian people's use of the power distance in semi-fixed space was recorded in detail in the three-dimensional aspect of the western traveler's eyes,and in the eyes of the East Traveler,only the plane was recorded.8.When kneeling in the western eyes,the left knee knelt down and the East was the opposite.9,Mongolians express their acceptance,non-acceptance and respect by silence.According to the value orientation in the use of these environmental language,it can be judged that ancient Mongolians have a high contextual culture.
