Research On Mazu Cultural Thoughts

Mazu culture is an important component of Chinese traditional culture and is one of the major representatives of Chinese marine culture.Since the beginning of the Song Dynasty,the Mazu beliefs have gradually developed into Mazu culture with rich content,profound thoughts and connotative meanings during the course of more than 1,000 years of historical development and spread.This article takes the Mazu culture as the main idea,aiming to analyze the historical background of Mazu culture,the relationship between Mazu culture and marine culture,explore the ideological sources of Mazu culture,refine the philosophical thinking of Mazu culture,and summarize the significance of Mazu culture in contemporary times.The first chapter,the historical background of Mazu culture includes the background of Mazu's life experience,the content of Mazu's customs,and the connotation of Mazu culture.Through the study of Mazu historical literature,it can be inferred that the birth and death time of Mazu that she was born on the first year of Jianlong reign of Song Dynasty and died in the fourth year of YongxiReign of Song Dynasty is relatively logical.It is proved that Mazu was a witch before death and the birthplace of Mazu was Meizhou Island in Putian,Fujian Province.And the lineage of Mazu is still not completely confirmed.Mazu Temple is the main carrier of Mazu 's customs.Mazu worship is an important part of Mazu culture,including sacrificial ceremonies,folk customs and legends.Based on ascertaining the concept of Mazu culture,the main content of the "spirit of benevolence" of Mazu culture is "filial piety,loyalty,bravery,and peace."The second chapter,after analysing the clues of marine culture in Mazu culture,it can be found that Mazu culture is closely related to marine culture.Mazu culture is the representative of marine culture.1)Mazu's identity of God of the Sea is a product of the combination of Mazu culture and marine culture.2)Mazu culture runs through the history of ancient seafaring since the Song Dynasty in China,such as the maritime transport in the Song Dynasty,the maritime transport of grain in the Yuan Dynasty,Zheng He's voyages to the West in the Ming Dynasty,and maritime transport between the mainland and Taiwan in the Qing Dynasty.3)Mazu culture links the development history of the ancient and modern Maritime Silk Road,which is mainly reflected in the aspects of diplomacy and trade,and has played a positive role in this process,including spiritual support,moral education,peaceful communication,and economic development.Four aspects.The third chapter,the main ideological sources of Mazu culture are Confucianism,Buddhism,and Taoism.1)Confucianism in Mazu culture is the ideological foundation of Mazu culture.The Confucian ideology contained in Mazu culture is the fundamental reason of Mazu's shared recognition and respect by the ancient courts all over Chinese history.Mazu was given royal court sacrifices because it conformed to the sacrificial standards of the Confucian Book of Rites.Through the research of support and criticism of Confucians for Mazu,we may find rich Confucian ideas.2)the Buddhist thought of Mazu culture is mainly embodied in the fusion of Mazu and Guanyin.Mazu is the embodiment of Guanyin Bodhisattva,paving the way for the integration of Mazu and Guanyin.The key factor in the fusion of the two is their similar mission of protecting the maritime transport,whereas a more fundamental reason is their shared compassion and deity.The integration of Mazu and Guanyin realizes the absorption of Buddhist ideas by Mazu culture.3)Taoism was integrated into the interaction between Mazu culture and Taoism culture.The literature of Mazu contains a large number of Taoist elements.The confusion between Mazu and Taoist goddess BixiaYuanjun is due to the similarities between the external image and the inherent nature.The confusion between the two goddesses indicates that Daoism has succeeded in absorbing Mazu beliefs.And the close connection between Mazu and Taoist gods enriches Taoism in Mazu culture.The connotation of Mazu culture with Confucianism,Buddhism,Taoism as the main source of thoughts was eventually formed,also becoming the source and basis of Mazu cultural philosophy.The fourth chapter,the main philosophical thoughts of Mazu culture are the spirit of benevolence and filial piety,the thought of commonness and change,and the concept of humanity and deity.The spirit of benevolence and filial pietyis the foundation of Mazu cultural philosophy.Viewing from the perspective of Confucian philosophy and moral and ethical values,its main source is the good deeds of Mazu before her death and the tales that appeared after the death of Mazu.The core of the spirit of benevolence and filial piety is the "kindness" and "loyalty" thoughts of the Mazu culture.It mainly embodies the content of the Mazu culture protecting the country,punishing evil and promoting the good.Mazu's image of the loving mother is based on the spirit of benevolence and filial piety.The thought of commonness and change is the core of the philosophy of Mazu culture.From the point of view of Chinese philosophy,we can find out that the changing view of Mazu culture includes two aspects: the ever-changing nature of the sea and the eternal law of nature.The impermanence of the ocean is an external form,and the repetition of the law of nature is an essential law.The morality of sincerity is the key force that links commonness and changes the phenomenon.Ultimately,we can reach the understanding of “knowing the commonness and adapting the change” of the world.The concept of humanity and deity is the key to the philosophy of Mazu culture.It explores the paradigm of interaction between humans and gods in Mazu culture from the perspective of religious studies.The Mazu culture has been officially promoted all over the history because it provides instruction for populace.Its decision-making power is the deity of Mazu,whereas the ultimate focus is on people.The basis of God's ideology of God's match to heaven is the magical power and deity of Mazu.The relationship between Mazu and the people is intertwined with equality and harmony.The fifth chapter,Mazu culture has an important value in the contemporary era.1)Mazu culture is an integral part of China's traditional culture,as it inherits the core ideas of Chinese traditional culture,condenses the traditional virtues of traditional Chinese culture,and enriches the humanistic spirit of excellent traditional Chinese culture.2)Mazu culture is in harmony with the core values of socialism,which is reflected in the fact that the Mazu culture and the socialist core values have the same goals,similar functions and spiritual connections.3)The Mazu culture is also of great significance to the contemporary society.It is shown that Mazu culture is the cultural hub on both sides of the Taiwan Strait,the spiritual bond of the “21st Century Maritime Silk Road” and an important local resource for building a “powerful nation of the sea”.The above content indicates that it is of great value to study and promote Mazu culture.This paper takes historical development as a clue,conducting research on Mazu cultural thoughts from multiple perspectives and disciplines.The ultimate goal of this paper is to promote the development of philosophical theories of Mazu culture,and to use the moral virtue of Mazu as a standard to observe individual gains and losses,to learn Mazu cultural ideas,to carry forward spirit of benevolence and filial piety of Mazu culture,to promote the traditional Chinese culture,meanwhile striving to pursue the unity of learning and character,improving the realm of life and achieve a better life.It will make the greatest contribution to the realization of modernization,the unification of China,the preservation of world peace and the promotion of common development.
