The Study Of Gender Writing And Value Concept Changes In The Novels Of Song Yuanming And Ming Dynasty

Gender studies are rather "fashionable" in recent emerging research areas,It focuses on sexual and gender issues that are fundamental to human existence.In the investigating range of this paper--the storytelling novels in Song Yuan Ming,there is a great number of sexual desire stories,the Yanyu stories,affair stories,which is reflecte the relations between the sexes and emotional life and constitute the text subject of this thesis.But gender writing is not simply understood as written in the form of sexual relations,and also can not be narrowed down to these emotional stories listed above.As a matter of fact,apart from sexual relations,the issue of "non relation" in term of gender(male and female)image and gender(masculinity and female)temperament which is based on their own gender is the focus of this thesis.And as the word "writing" implied,the gender study of this thesis has been greatly divorced from its original sociological category and is based on the actual text of the novel in the field of literature.Therefore,the gender status investigated in this thesis is more of a product of writing or the product of literary creation,rather than the true form of sociology.Meanwhile just because of this,the gender writing,as a product of literary creation,is bound to the values that the novelist created in his novel,but the value concept itself will be further subject to times context,All kinds of changes in the political situation,academic trends,aesthetic trends and social psychology will have a complex and far-reaching impact on gender writing in the novel texts of this period.Therefore,the research ideas of this thesis will be carried out according to "the outline of the times context--the change of values--the corresponding changes of gender writing" and to explore the relationship between gender writing and the change of values.The main contents of this thesis include three plates,according to the time sequence in the storytelling novels would be song and Yuan storytelling novels,"Sanyan",Chongzhen Dynasty storytelling novels.In the plate of "Chongzhen Dynasty storytelling novels",because "Erpai" and the Chongzhen Dynasty storytelling novels after "Erpai" show distinctive differences in the values,therefore,the discussion of the plate can actually be subdivided into two parts,"Erpai" and the Chongzhen Dynasty storytelling novels after "Erpai".Through analyzing and linking up the novel texts of the four major parts of the three plates,the author will try to prove the following point of view,the gender writing which shows in Song Yuan Ming storytelling novels,both gender(male and female)image,gender temperament(the changes of gender temperament,the flow of gender temperament,etc.),and the pattern of gender relations,in fact,are "written out",the different displays in different stages are inevitably bound by the times context and the values formed.among them,the shaping of female image is more passive,except for the time context and values,it would still be subject by the desires and expectations from the male society.Although certain gender reality often has certain realistic basis,such as there is a large number of the emergence of virtuous women of Ming and Qing Dynasties,the education level of women in Jiangnan was generally improved in the early Qing Dynasty,but the gender status in the novel texts is more than just a "willing" writing,the purpose is often to better cater to the desires of a male group in a certain era,for example the great "demand" of the virtuous women before the perdition of the Ming Dynasty,the "daydream" of female imagination to beautiful woman in the early Qing Dynasty and so on.From this point of view,I do not agree with regarding relevant texts relating to gender writing of the Song Yuan Ming storytelling novels as "historical sociology" about this period.Because these gender states "being written out" do not necessarily reflect the true state of the sexes at that time,There will be a clearer picture after relating the different changes in gender writing at different times and the changes of the values that play a driving role behind them.
