This paper studies the history of poetry related to Chinese Christianity(including Catholics,Protestantism)in the modern times. It mainly discusses the response of people at different levels of Christians and non-Christians to Christianity in China in the form of poetry under the specific historical circumstances of Chinese society. From this historical evolution process of the anti-Christian poetry and the reformist poetry of the late Qing dynasty, and the Propaganda Poems praised by Christians in Christianity in the Early Years of the Republic of China, this paper shows the specific situation of the collision and integration of Christianity and modern Chinese society. With regard to the historical background of the modern poetry, this article mainly expounds the influence of the poetry about interpretation of Christian and anti-Christian documents on the positive and negative aspects of modern poetry in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, and points out that the suspicion and misgivings of the minority scholars on Christianity is the later interpretation of poetry related to Chinese Christianity. The anti-Christian poetry is a precursor to the evolution of anti-Christian poetry, and anti-Christian documents are the main reference and basis for anti-Christian poetry in ideology. As for the part of anti-Christian poetry in the late Qing Dynasty, this article reviews the anti-Christian historical background and some important anti-Christian writings, inspects some representative poems, and sorts out the relationship between them and related cases. In addition, this article also observes some variant forms of anti-Christian poetry, analyzes the creative subject of anti-Christian poetry from various angles, summarizes the advantages and characteristics of anti-Christian poetry, and specifically analyzes the emergence of anti-Christian poetry. And this paper analyzes in detail the deep social causes of the emergence of anti-Christian poetry, including conflicts in various aspects such as economy, politics, human relations, and religion.Anti-Christian poetry,of course, has a simple patriotism, but it also has flaws in language, radical rhetoric, and rumors. It confuses the real reason for the crisis of the country in the Qing Dynasty. The incited people are easily blindly excluded and create extreme events. Both the people and Christians suffered huge losses and they violated the original intentions of anti-Christian and national security. After the First Sino-Japanese War,the reformists created poetry that embraced Christianity in order to ease the intense anti-Christian sentiment of the people. They fully used newspapers and other emerging media to positively guide anti-Christian people.A series of poems have appeared in the reformists' important position, the "Xiang Newspaper"."Wake up the world Song" emphasizes the concept of equality, breaking the boundary between China and the barbarians, and paying attention to the spirit of contract;"Everyone thinks Song" advises everyone not to blindly fight Christianity, and summarizes the incentives for the occurrence of cases. The "Advise Song" emphasizes the analysis of the different sentiments and psychology of Chinese and Western societies. It advocated not to resist against Christianity to preserve Confucianism. It also popularizes foreign common sense and open up people's wisdom;"Tea Business Song","Cotton Song" and "Weaving Song" respond to several other poems talking about setting up industry and seeking the country to be rich and strong. The reformists' receptive poetry accompanies the situation in the reform process and grows together. From the language to the genre, they sing songs for the people. These songs are fresh but not artificial, calm and peaceful. The reformist gentry lowered their attitude to dialogue with the people at the bottom and actively responded to the contradictions between the people and Christianity.Their attitude towards Christianity was more mature and profound, and they were also good at using the modern media of the new era. They completed the transformation from individual ambitions to propaganda for the general public in the function of poetry, and also played an exemplary role in the poetry of later generations. From the end of the Qing dynasty to the early years of the Republic of China,a series of praise poems were produced. The emergence of hymns is a distinctive feature of Christianity in China. This article mainly examines their contents and characteristics, summarizes the achievements and experiences of localized hymns, analyzes the reasons for the vigorous development, and summarizes the laws of its development. It is believed that these hymns have a tendency to migrate from cultural to independent creation and reverse output, revealing the contribution of China's localized hymns to the creation of Christian hymns in the world, and shows that they have an objective impact on the development of Chinese modern literature. The contents, forms, and tastes of the church poetry continue to advance in the direction of popularization, and Chinese Christians also strive to seek personal and church development in the same direction as the entire Chinese situation. This article points out that local hymns are also responses to modern anti-Christian cases and an indispensable part of the study of Christianity in China. It is of great significance to the study of the collision and integration of Christianity and Chinese society and to the study of Christianity in China.
