This thesis involves in a comprehensive research on the history of psychology,philosophy of psychology,and dialectics of nature.Since the 1970 s,contextualism,as a psychological explanation,has been recognized by more and more psychological researchers.In the beginning,contextualism entered psychological researches in the form of social constructivism or dialectics.In the past 20 years,contextualism,as a paradigm,has developed toward the more refined versions and reflects some features of the dialectical materialism of life development.In developmental psychology,relational developmental systems research paradigm of science based on organismic contextualism is gradually formed.In behavioral psychology,contextual behavioral science is grounded in the philosophical assumption of functional contextualism.These two research paradigms are consistent with each other,which integrate evolutionary levels of biology,culture,symbols,behavior,development into a set of systems.In summary,the paradigm of psychology is a meta-model for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary social mind researches,which synthesizes the researches of multiple complex systems involved in the natural and social sciences,brain and society,and mind and social researches,then provides a coherent framework for psychology researches.The thesis consist of the introduction,five chapters of systematic discussion and the conclusion.The first chapter is the rise of the contextualistic paradigm in psychology.This chapter systematically clarifies the context of contextualistic thinking in psychology and provides a comprehensive explanation of support opinions and objections.It also studies the forms and main features of the three contextualistic interpretations in psychology,namely,descriptive contextualism,developmental contextualism,and functional contextualism.It also proposes that contextualism is a better psychological paradigm,and the breakthrough and innovation of psychology meta-theory.The second chapter is the theoretical basis of the contextualistic paradigm of psychology and its extension.The description in this chapter will provide a unified theoretical preparation for the subsequent researches,which clarifies the sources of contextualism in psychology and its extension research,in addition,discusses the general progress of philosophy of psychology and the paradigm of contextualism.The third chapter is the manifestation of the contextualistic paradigm: developmental psychology.This chapter studies the current performance of contextualism in developmental psychology based on the theoretical development of developmental psychology.The developmental system paradigm based on the organismic contextualism has been formed in the developmental psychology.The relationism and relational developmental systems paradigm represent a series of the specific behavior of the live organism.The contextualism thinking in developmental psychology mainly include dialectical materialism,the organismic contextualism worldview,and the ontological framework and epistemological approach of contextualism.The relational developmental systems paradigm can better accommodate new data in developmental psychology,provide a basis for further specific research in developmental psychology,and provide new insights into the issues of ontogeny and evolution involved in the philosophy of psychology,sociology,and anthropology.The fourth chapter is the manifestation of the contextualistic paradigm: behavioral psychology.This chapter is divided into three parts: First,it gives a brief distinction between the definition of behaviorism,behavioral psychology and behavioral science.Second,it demonstrates Morris’ s contextualistic psychology.Third,it demonstrates the characteristics and significance of contextual behavioral science.Contextual behavioral science is a comprehensive and systematic set of psychological theories and methods based on Skinner’s behavioral analysis genre.In this part of the content,we try to explain the development of the contextual behavior science,the core content,its characteristics and advantages.In short,we believe that contextual behavioral science is a true social science.Compared with the developmental system meta-model in developmental psychology,contextual behavioral science has added a more applicable research dimension to interfere humans’ behavior,culture,and even had a certain degree of impact on social science research.The fifth chapter is the contextualistic paradigm of psychology and its characteristics.This chapter proposes the evolution of the contextualistic paradigm based on the previous four chapters.This paper considers that a more comprehensive and integrated multidisciplinary research system is the future trend of psychological research.However,contextualism can provide a consistent basis for research in such research systems.The contextualistic paradigm of psychology will develop in a more refined direction.The forms of contextuliatic paradigm have already been proposed include: the paradigm of pure contextualism,the paradigm of organismic contextualism,the paradigm of pretended-mechanistic contextualism.Currently,the manifestation of the contextualistic paradigm is a multidimensional evolutionary systems.Contextualism is a kind of "biological naturalism." The contextualistic paradigm of psychology has obvious advantages and characteristics.As a contextualistic paradigm of multidimensional evolutionary systems,it is based on the hierarchical systems,and represents the contextual research path of the co-evolution of culture,biology,behavior and cognition.The perspective of synergistic evolution resolves the opposition between scientism and humanism.The conclusion is summarized the whole thesis.Firstly,the previous chapters are summarized,and on this basis,the important research significance of the contextualistic paradigm at the level of methodology and epistemology is analyzed.
