Guanyin is one of the most influential Bodhisattvas in Mahayana Buddhism and one of the most popular gods in Chinese religious beliefs.The Guanyin faith was introduced to China during the Jin Dynasty,and in the process of constantly adapting to Chinese society,Chinese culture,and the Chinese people,it became the most profound,comprehensive and thorough Buddhist Buddhism belief in China,and it was against Chinese philosophy and religion.,ethics,literature,social life,and ways of thinking and spiritual interest have had a profound impact.Throughout the ages,there have been many images of Guanyin in various poses.These images are the morphological outward appearance of Guanyin's inner spirit,an important cultural carrier of Guanyin belief,and the spiritual support and emotional expression of the Chinese people's belief in Guanyin.They carry the history of belief,history of thought,and history of art.Many rich cultural connotations,such as social history,are of great value in conveying the spirit of Guanyin,promoting the spread of faith,assisting religious practice,expressing religious feelings,and soothing the hearts of the people.The Guanyin image of ancient Chinese Han Dynasty is a continuous breakthrough and creation based on the inheritance and development of the Guanyin image of India.From the Eastern Jin Dynasty to the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties,after more than a thousand years,the Guanyin image has experienced four stages of development.First of all,during the Eastern Jin and Southern and Northern Dynasties,Guanyin's image continued to accept the stimulation of this extraterritorial art.On the one hand,it constantly adjusted to adapt to the new cultural soil.Through three major changes,it showed “Vanhua and Light” and a variety of Guanyin classic images that have far-reaching influence on future generations.Thirdly,during the Song and Yuan Dynasties,the development of Guanyin's image was more Chinese,and it has broken through the scope of Buddhist orthodoxy.It began to become secular and diversified.The sacredness of Guanyin's image gradually weakened,and it continued to move toward the human world and toward the people.A large number of Guanyin images of life,feminization and realism.Finally,the sacredness and creativity of the Guanyin image in the Ming and Qing Dynasties was not as good as before,but its entertaining and secularized Guanyin image was more deeply and universally integrated into Chinese culture,the Chinese people,and other gods in the Buddhist faith.Chinese acceptance,understanding,imagination and creation of the Chinese Guanyin image in Indian Buddhist texts and extraterritorial Buddhist art.It represents the image of the Guanyin image in Indian dependence on Indian culture.The maturity and popularity of the female Guanyin image during the Song and Yuan Dynasties are important signs and achievements.The feminization of Guanyin image is an important issue in the history of Buddhism and art.The study of this issue should be carried out simultaneously from the dimensions of reality,art and religion.The reasons are not only the special character of Guanyin,the development of Buddhist women,and the negative of Buddhism.The "innate" reasons such as aesthetics,as well as the "post-day" reasons such as Chinese goddess worship,Chinese aesthetic characteristics,and Chinese social characteristics,the mature and wonderful stories of the Song and Yuan Dynasties,marked the complete feminization of Guanyin in terms of identity and image.The evolution from the Yanzhou woman to the Ma Lang woman Guanyin to the fish basket Guanyin represents the constant convergence of Guanyin women's image to the Chinese moral concept.Third,the image of Guanyin constantly breaks through the boundaries in the development process,from India to Chinese society,from Buddhism to Chinese religion,and even from Chinese culture to Western ideals and aesthetics.The ideal pursuit.Through the image of Guanyin,we can find the beauty and truth of the world of religion and art,find the shadow and spirit of the self through the image of Guanyin,express the thinking and imagination of human nature through the image of Guanyin,and explore the ultimate meaning and pursuit through the image of Guanyin.
