The Overview Of Jiang Wenye's Piano Music Creation(1934-1937)

During the development of modern Chinese Music,Jiang Wenye is well-known as a composer.But he is more than a composer who made a great contribution to Chinese history of piano art.Especially in the 1930 s,he created a large number of piano works as precious legacy of piano art in China.The Complete Works of Jiang Wenye was published by the Central Conservatory of Music Press in 2016.As a book with the value of historical materials,The Complete Works of Jiang Wenye not only includes the whole piano works of the composer,but also provides the largest possibility of intense research for scholars.The research is about the piano works of Jiang Wenye from 1934 to 1937,combining the practical theory of piano performance,and based on the solid theory of composition techniques and aesthetics of music.According to the time of creation,the research is divided into two parts.During the early stage(1934-1937),the style of the composer emerged.During the medium stage(1935-1937),the style changed.On the basis of the content,the research is divided into four levels.First,to analyze the piano works with the theory of ‘Music analysis',it carefully analyzes each element(sound,melody,tonality)of the formation of music,including the analysis of expression technique of musical language(texture,timbre,dynamics,speed,range,rhythm,and musical emotion).Second,it comprehends and interprets the performing method(speed,dynamics,volume,touching,performance technique and pedal)of each creation with hermeneutic principles based on the analysis of music.Third,it analyzes the style of the composer and musical style of his works via humanistic color and aesthetic features from the creations,the research combines the factors such as the aesthetic point of view,thoughts,culture and living background,life experience,and education of the composer.Fourth,it also summarizes the influence of Jiang Wenye and his works on later generations from two aspects,composition and music teaching experience.During the concrete operation process,the thesis will be written in the following steps.The first step: comprehensive arrangement and induction of music score,audio and video materials and original material.The second step:preliminary study of the works by unscrambling the music score and audiovisual products which have been recorded,combining piano performance practice.The third step:establish and verify the following aspects hypothetical theory:1.‘Acoustic Thinking'is the major thinking mode of Jiang Wenye's piano works creation.It includes the construction of the chromatic chords and the multilayer timbre of compound mode.2.The construction of rhythm is the core of Jiang Wenye's early works.3.The turn of the style mainly reflects in the tonalities design.Deliberate pursuit of national cultural spirit is the main creative features of medium and later stage of Jiang Wenye's piano creation.The fourth step:deep interviews are conducted with domestic and foreign important scholars and relatives of the composer in the relevant research area,in order to collect up-to-date information and to verify and speculate the preliminary views.The fifth step:demonstrate the existing hypothetical theory by description in words via music analysis method and interpretative method;summarize the influence of Jiang Wenye and his works on later generations by inductive method.
