Pan Yue's Literary Creation And Acceptance Research

Pan Yue,with remarkable achievements in literary works,is the leading writer of Taikang Literature in Xijin Dynasty.He's skilled at poetry,Fu,Ai,Lei and received high praise at that time and later generations.Based on Pan Yue and his literary works,the thesis analyzes the conditions of his literary creation associated with the cultural background of the Xijin Dynasty and his life experience,the change of his mental attitudes and so on.According to the popularity of his works in the posterity,the thesis tries to make relatively fair and objective evaluation on his important place in literature.Besides the introduction part,the full text is composed of two parts with ten chapters.The introduction part mainly discusses four points: firstly,it's the reasons and the significance of choosing this topic.It assures the research value on his literary creations.Secondly,it carefully studies the present situation and the trend of the study on Pan Yue.It explores the reasons for the imbalance of his research through review and reflection from chronological order in three periods.Thirdly,it is the research content and method.The principles in essay writing process are made clear in the part.The fourth part is to summarize the innovative contents of this article.The weak points are explored in Pan Yue's research and the deficiency existing in the current study should be made up.The first part(Chapter one to Chapter six)focuses on the text and horizontal synchronic study.According to the principle of ZhiRenLunShi,the external conditions and internal factors of the formation of his personality are revealed to reproduce his real condition of life and literary creations.Based on the social and cultural development in Xijin Dynasty,this paper discusses the ideological and cultural background of his style,the contents and artistic characteristics,and the exploration and innovation of his works.Then the ideological and cultural characteristics of his literature as a whole will be investigated with examples in his literary works of the western mainstream culture.Chapter one introduces the background of Pan Yue and his literary creation in three aspects.First,it introduces his family origins andmarriage.Second,it describes his official experiences in four periods in which his mental changes that was brought about by the change of his life is focused on.Third,it presents the main social circles with noble families,close friends,and relatives in-law.The main social activities called the Twenty-four Friends and Jin Gu Meeting he participated in are discussed separately in this section.Chapter two discusses the relationship between the styles of prose of Pan Yue and Taikang.Based on the social and cultural background in Xijin Dynasty,combining with the social ideological trend,the prevailing custom and aesthetic value,the characteristics of Taikang style are explored.And then,it highlights the features of his works among the commonness of concludes the commonness of Taikang style.Chapter three to five talks respectively on his poetry,Ci,Lei,Ai from the stylistic point of view.In order to show his great contribution in the development of various genres,the characteristics of his works,the evolution of the various genres,and the mutual influence between different styles are presented here.Chapter three focuses on the ideological contents and artistic features of his poetry.It dates back the origin of his emotion connotation and discusses respectively the unique styles of SiYanShi and WuYanShi.It analyzes the conditions of his poetry affected by the way of creating Ci.Chapter four mainly discusses his creation on Ci Fu.Ci can be divided into the poem of lyrics,travel notes,chanting things and narratives whose ideological content system is discussed;His artistic achievement on Ci Fu can be analyzed in detail from the unique conception,irregular and strewn at random of the sentences,rich and colorful rhetoric and harmonious tones.To highlight his success in Ci,this article also gives priority to with extracts of literary works of Ci Fu,comparing the six main creations with some previous subjects.Chapter five mainly discusses the inheritance and the innovation of the style of Lei and Ai on the former works.According to the connotation of emotion,some other genres are presented separately.Chapter 6 presents the characteristics of his literary thought in three aspects.First,based on the text,the application of Confucian classics inPan Yue's poems are divided into classical direct quote,paraphrase,a laparoscope and semantic sharing and the use of classical allusions.Second,it is to explore his reclusion thought and the reason,combining with contemporary style and the Xijin Dynasty scholar's political thought tendency.Third,it analyzes his thought on the meaning of life.The second part(Chapter seven to ten)focuses on the longitudinal diachronic study.It explores the influence on Pan Yue in the process of political change,the different historical periods of aesthetic acceptance,social life and ideas.Based on the influence of his works on the later generations and the comments on his works,it reveals his significant status and influence in the whole history of ancient Chinese literature.Chapter seven discusses the accepting conditions of his literature in the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties.This is the golden period of his acceptance with much praise.It explores the reasons for this and the ways of accepting under the special aesthetic standards of Wei Jin literature.Respectively,this section reviews and summarizes the contents related with PanYue and his creations in Shi Shuo Xin Yu,Wen Xin Diao Long and Poem Savoring.It discusses the spread of pan yue works according to the excerption in Wen Xuan;and presents his influence on Xie Zhuang,Yan Yanzhi,Jiang Yan,and so on.Chapter eight discusses Pan Yue in Tang and five dynasties and the acceptance of his literary creation.This was a developing period of the acceptance of Pan Yue,in which the acceptance for Pan Yue presented a trend of diversification,and the general attitude was a kind of understanding praise.With the national unity and Confucianism reconstruction,the focus on Pan Yue began to shift.His personality,career experience,poetry content were penetrating into the fields of society,culture,poetry creation,and the acceptance for Pan Yue went gradually from the individual to the group,extending to the social and cultural level.In terms of literary criticism,according to the performances of the aesthetic consciousness in the different periods of Tang dynasty,the author makes an analysis of the acceptance for Pan Yue's literary creation in the three stages in Tang dynasty and its reasons;In Tang poetry,the use of the allusions about Pan Yue reflects his widespread fame;Selection ofLiterary Works by Li Shan opened a new way for the acceptance of Pan's literary works in Tang dynasty;the elegy mushroomed in the middle and late period of Tang dynasty was the main performance of the influence of Pan works in the Tang dynasty.Chapter nine discusses the acceptance for Pan Yue and his literary creation during Song and Yuan period.This is a deepening stage of the acceptance for Pan Yue,in which moral consciousness was gradually absorbed into the category of aesthetic evaluation,literary criticism pay more and more attention to the role of the creation subject and the shift in the attitude towards Pan Yue from Tang dynasty continued in the direction of “criticizing the behavior”.The study for the criticism and influence during Song and Yuan period presents a complex multivariate trend,and the in Song dynasty,the discussion of literary theory represented by notes on poetry is relatively active,and this kind of literary criticism also brought a new look for the acceptance of Pan Yue: attaching great importance to studying the sources of verse,deepening the study on poetry words,paying attention to the classification on the style of former generation of outstanding works and authors and other aspects reflect the meticulousness and deepening of literary criticism in Song dynasty.In addition,the private family life and sensitive personal emotion that Pan Yue was most good at find a good expression in Ci which requires the delicate beauty;in return,the newly rising literary style of Ci also gives appropriate the words to Pan Yue's ethical feelings and makes the acceptance of Pan Yue in Song-Ci poems show a new face.In terms of the influence,with the discussion of the influence of Pan Yue's works on the elegy in Song dynasty,the author makes the case study of special writers and works,discussing Shi Dazu,a ci-poet in Southern Song dynasty,who fully accepted Pan Yue,from person to the article.Given the actual condition of little document about the acceptance of Pan Yue in Liao-Jin-Yuan period,this paper makes a generalization of the historical data,preface and postscript of corpus and gives a separate discussion of the literary creation of Yuan Haowen and his attitude of criticism for Pan Yue.Chapter ten discusses the acceptance for Pan Yue and his literary creation during Song and Yuan period,which is the duration of theacceptance for Pan Yue.In Ming and Qing dynasty,the acceptance for Pan Yue takes the form of literary criticism which is headed by poetry criticism,and thus the discussion of Pan Yue's conduct is integrated into the evaluation of the poem,so this chapter focuses on the acceptance for Pan Yue in notes on poet and poetry and in selections of poems.The criticism towards Pan Yue's conduct gradually spreads away,some critics even holds the biased opinion of “character comes first”.Firstly,the paper puts Pan Yue in the literature movement in Ming dynasty,and based on the thorough understanding of the ideological and cultural conditions of Ming dynasty,makes clear the state of the acceptance for Pan Yue's poems in Ming dynasty.Secondly,a classification of the poetry notes about Pan Yue in Ming and Qing dynasties is made so as to further discuss the attitude for Pan Yue Ming and Qing dynasty and its variation during the period.On this basis,a special analysis and evaluation is made about the notes and corpus which is of great significance for the acceptance of Pan Yue in Ming and Qing dynasties.At last,this paper grooms the status of cataloguing work of Pan Yue's works,and makes a deep understanding of the situation of the record,quotation and the inclusion of Pan Yue's works in important anthology and private editions,etc.,thus understand the spreading trace of Pan Yue's works.
