A Study On The Plant Terms Of The Chinese Language

Plant words are not only an important part of Chinese vocabulary system,but also a large semantic field.Many plant words not only convey their own conceptual meaning,but also contain rich cultural information,and become the "signifier" words bearing the national cultural significance.Plant words are not only a medium to interpret national culture,but also an important way to explore the relationship between language and thinking.This paper chooses Chinese plant words(including the nouns used to call plants and the words with plant names as morpheme construction)as the research object,and takes the plant words in Chinese authoritative dictionaries and comprehensive corpora as the corpus.Based on the knowledge of traditional linguistics,cultural semantics,cognitive linguistics and other related knowledge,the paper studies the plant words from the language level of naming and semantics,and makes a comprehensive and systematic study of plant words from the perspective of cognition and culture.The paper describes and analyses the naming motivation,structural characteristics,meaning formation,meaning evolution of Chinese plant words,especially the semantic features and expressions of plant words with cultural meaning,and the relationship between plant words and national culture from macroscopic and microcosmic perspectives.It also explores the role and influence of linguistic mechanism and social culture in the meaning of plant words and the formation of plant metaphor in Chinese,aiming at revealing the general characteristics of plant words,exploring their uniqueness and outlining the basic features of Chinese plant words system.It is hoped that with the help of the study of some kind of word aggregation,we can explore the relationship between a nation's language reality,national cultural spirit and national thinking mode from the lexical level.The research objectives of this paper are as follows: from the plant name,this paper try to analyze the types and characteristics of the naming motivation of plant words,to discuss the basis and reasons for obtaining the names of plant concepts and their specific performance in the semantic features of words,to analyze the meaning composition and semantic features of plant words,to discuss the influence and role of social culture on the semantic production and development,and to analyze metaphor in the process of the semantic evolution of plant words from a cognitive perspective The paper discusses the internal relationship between the evolution of word research,we found that there are many reasons for the naming of Chinese plant words.They reveal the meaning characteristics of plant words and reflect some characteristics of plants,and show the more prominent cultural characteristics such as analogy and concreteness.The meaning of Chinese plant words is complex and rich.It has both objective meaning and subjective meaning.It is a double-layer superposition of plant concept meaning and deep additional meaning.The meaning of the words contains strong national culture color.The production and understanding of the cultural meaning of plant words are based on the characteristics of plants and cultural patterns(Including the cultural form of social history,the form of custom life and the form of psychological culture)and cognitive patterns(metaphor or metonymy),and reflects the information of national culture and history.The cognitive mechanism of metaphor is an important basis and way of plant naming,and the metaphorical naming of plants is subordinate to the basic conceptual metaphor related to plants and reflects the process and law of human cognition;Metaphor is also the internal psychological mechanism of the development of the meaning of plant words.The meaning of plant words based on experiences,and with similarity(or relevance)as the junction,and through the cognitive approach of metaphor(or metonymy)to achieve the derivation and expansion of the meaning.The metaphor of Chinese plant words involves a wide range of levels,various patterns and distinctive features.These unique plant metaphors are the inevitable products under the influence of specific culture and adapt to specific cultural patterns.The evolution of the meaning of plant words is closely related to the cognitive style of metaphor(including metonymy)and the social and cultural Trinity used in language communication.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The introduction describes the reasons for choosing the topic,reviews the research history and current situation of Chinese plant words,analyzes the significance and value of the topic research,and explains the research methods and corpus sources.Chapter 1: The naming of Chinese plant words.According to different research methods,this paper analyzes and classifies the naming motivation of plant words;on this basis,it discusses the naming characteristics of Chinese plant words,describes and explains the phenomenon of the same name of different names in plant words,and analyzes the deep-seated causes of the phenomenon from the internal and external factors of language.Chapter 2: Semantic analysis of Chinese plant words.The semantic of plant words includes rational meaning,grammatical meaning and cultural meaning.According to the needs of its own research,this paper focuses on two aspects: rational meaning and cultural meaning of plant words.Through the internal relationship between morpheme meaning and word meaning of plant words,the paper expounds the direct and indirect semantic expression and causes of the rational meaning of plant words,explains the semantic features of the cultural meaning of plant words,and points out the semantic sources and ways of the cultural meaning of plant words,and probes into the semantic patterns of plant words in two different language systems of English and Chinese The meaning also an important way to describe the world.The metaphorical cognition of plants is embodied in the metaphorization of plant names,and also in the mapping and reflection of a certain concept of non plant domain by the metaphorical meaning of plants.This paper analyzes the metaphorical system and metaphorical cultural cognition of Chinese plant words from two aspects: the metaphorical naming of Chinese plant concepts and the metaphorical pattern of Chinese plant words.It points out that metaphor plays a cognitive role of reconstruction,association and transfer in the semantic evolution of plant words.At the same time,based on the in-depth study of the characteristics of plant metaphor,this paper also points out the causes of the formation of Chinese plant metaphor.Chapter 4: The material and cultural mapping of Chinese plant words.As a concept system,meaning exists based on people's cognitive model.The generation and development of word meaning are limited by people's cognitive ability and cognitive style,and also affected by social culture,national psychology,ecological environment and other factors.This chapter excavates the ancient production and life reflected by plant words from the material level of culture,and the reflection of plant words on diet culture and traditional Chinese medicine culture,and discusses the internal relationship and interaction between words and national culture through the micro interpretation of the national culture information contained in words and expressions.Chapter 5: The spiritual and cultural reflection of Chinese and aesthetic concepts of the Han nationality.Plant words also reflect national values.With flowers and trees as the carrier,people express their admiration and pursuit of noble spiritual personality,show the emotional experience and resonance of the integration of man and nature,and also reflect the aesthetic requirements of ancient society for women.The conclusion of the paper
