During the Sui and Tang Dynasties,Uyghur began to appear in historical books, which shows that Uyghur tribes began to grow stronger in Mobei area in this period. From then on until the fall of the Uighur Khanate in the Zhengyuan period of emperor Dezong of Tang Dynasty, the Uighur in Mobei experienced a rise process of200 years.Among the many reasons leading to the rise of Uyghur, the influence of Tang Dynasty on the political situation of Mobei and the interaction between Tang Dynasty and Uyghur played the most important and obvious role.By analyzing this period of history,we can draw many useful conclusions for studying the history of Uighur and the history of ethnic relations in Tang Dynasty.Although the historical records of Uighur in the traditional literature are very brief, there are still many new discoveries by analyzing some details in the historical materials. There are three important documents recording the history of Uighur, namely,Biography of Uighur in the Huiyao of Tang Dynasty,Biography of Uighur in the Old Book of Tang,Biography of Uighur in the New Book of Tang, which originated from many books.Biography of Uighur in the Huiyao of Tang Dynasty was written by Wang Pu after integrating the relevant contents of Huiyao and Xuhuiyao in the Tang Dynasty. He did not refer to biography of Uighur in the Old Book of Tang,so the two books contradicted each other. The historical source of the Biography of Uighur in the Old Book of Tang is quite complex, and there are contradictions and disadvantages. Some mistakes in this book mislead the later generations, but Old Book of Tang also save a lot of historical details. The Biography of Uighur in the New Book of Tang was written by the people of Song Dynasty after carefully sorting out the historical materials of Uighur in the past. Its value of historical materials is no less than that of the iography of Uighur in the Old Book of Tang, but there is also something inferior to the latter. When several kinds of literature are compared and read, new conclusions can be drawn.According to the literature, the early rise of Uighur is closely related to its leader,Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva defeated the East Turkic Khanate and captured a large number of people through the alliance with Xue yantuo, which made his tribe grow rapidly."On Uighur" alliance may be formed in this period. After the collapse of the East Turkey Khanate, all parts of Mobei established trade relations with the Tang Dynasty.Through the analysis of historical data,we can see that trade deeply influenced the tripartite game among Tang Dynasty,Syr-Tardush Khanate and Mobei tiele. There is a deep connection between the development of political situation and trade in Mobei. After the fall of the Syr-Tardush Khanate. The leader of Uighur triedto establish a new Mobei regime. But after a series of games with the Tang Dynasty, the Uighur people's attempt failed and became the subordinate department of the Tang Dynasty. After the rise of the Post Turkic khanate, the relationship between Uighur and the Tang Dynasty also changed in several stages——from the initial be tied up relationship to the separation from the control of the Tang Dynasty. In the early years of Tianbao, the Tang Dynasty once restored be tied up relationship with Uighur. But soon after the establishment of the Uighur Khanate, the two sides became suzerain vassal relations, and after the Anshi rebellion, they became "the country of brothers".It was not until Zhenyuan of emperor Dezong of Tang Dynasty that the relationship between the two sides was restored.Through the analysis,we can know that the records of "eleven Tutuq" in Uighur in the literature originated from the list of Uighur nobility in the first year of Guangde,Emperor Dezong of Tang Dynasty. The change of Uighur's name is also related to the trade with Tang Dynasty. The struggle between Tang Dynasty and Turks or Syr-Tardush provided a certain opportunity for Uighur to grow stronger. The decline of military power in the later period of Emperor Gaozong was also an important reason for the rise of Uighur Khanate. The trade between the Tang Dynasty and Uighur was the economic foundation of its prosperity. The rise of Uighur came to an end in the Zhenyuan period of emperor Dezong of Tang Dynasty.By analyzing the influence of Tang Dynasty on the rise of Uighur,we can see that there were profound political and economic ties between the ancient Central Plains and the Mongolian Plateau, which reflected the formation history of the pluralistic integration of the Chinese nation.
