Carrying out political loyalty education for Chinese youth concerns the cultivation of successors of the course of socialism with Chinese characteristics,which has always been an extremely important work to the Communist Party and the nation.At present,under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party,Chinese youth support and put their confidence in the Central Committee with comrade Xi Jinping as the core,highly identify with the new ideology,new concept,new idea and new strategy adopted by the Central Committee concerning managing state and political affairs,and have full confidence on the socialism with Chinese characteristics and the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.With the development of globalization,informationization and marketization under the new situation,youth's loyalty to the Party and the people is suffering from the impact of excessive materialism,nihilism and relativism,and both domestic and foreign hostile forces are struggling to enlist the youth trying to weaken their national consciousness and sense of sovereignty and dilute their loyalty and patriotism,which poses grave challenges to our youth political loyalty education.Therefore,how to improve the political loyalty education for Chinese Youth to keep pace with the times has become a significant political task and strategic mission of ideological and political education in colleges.However,the relevant research on youth political loyalty education is relatively weak at present for the basic concepts and basic theories of such education remain to be strengthened.For this reason,this dissertation,under the guidance of Marxism,comprehensively elaborate on the political loyalty education of Chinese Youth in the new situation with literature review method,multidisciplinary comprehensive research method and comparison method employed,deeply discusses the scientific connotations of loyalty,political loyalty,and political loyalty education,and comprehensively investigates the rationale and ideological resources of the political loyalty education for Chinese Youth under the new situation.This dissertation also analyses the development paradigm of Chinese and overseas political loyalty and their educational ideas,and proposes the goal,main content and basic path of the political loyalty education for Chinese Youth in the new situation based on the analysis of the status of youth political loyalty education in China.It is expected that this dissertation will contribute to the cultivation of loyal and reliable new socialist youth,to the heritage and innovation of Chinese outstanding public loyalty culture,and to the Innovation and development of ideological and political education as a discipline.The thesis is divided into six parts,and the main contents are as follows.Introduction asthe first chapter mainly elaborates the research background of youth political loyalty education from the aspects of healthy development of the Party's youth career and the development of the discipline of ideological and political education,and points out the research significance of this topic.This chapter also combs and analyzes the overall situation,development process and relevant findings of related domestic and overseas research,and gives an account of the research ideas and methods adopted in the research.The innovation points of this research are summarized at the end of the chapter.The second chapter is “Definition of Basic Concept and Theoretical Basis”,consisting of two parts.The first part is general analysis of the basic categories with three basic concepts involved in this research defined and elucidated.Firstly,this part defines the basic connotation of loyalty,discriminates the relevant concepts of loyalty,and analyses the modern implication of loyalty on the basis of the discussion of the meaning of loyalty,honesty,and the connection between them.Then,it expounds the cultural origin,basic connotation and basic dimension of political loyalty.Finally,it tries to define the political loyalty education through political education,and analyses its unique character,aiming to sort out and define these basic concepts in an all-round way.The second part is to explain the development paradigm of CPC member ' s political loyalty education based on excavating the political loyalty ideas of Marxist classical writers through relevant statements of core generations of the Party and the state leaders,and thus laying the foundation for the value and theory of this research.The third chapter is“Development and Enlightenment of Chinese and Overseas Political Loyalty and Its Educational Thought”.Divided into two parts,the first part of this chapter is to re-examine and explore the traditional Chinese concept of loyalty and virtue and spiritual resources thereof that is conducive to the governance practice of modern politics.Firstly,this part explores the historical evolution of traditional Chinese concept of loyalty and virtue.Then,it discusses some regular characteristics of traditional Chinese thoughts of loyalty and virtue from the aspects of human-nature relations,public-private relations,and loyalty-filial piety relations.Finally,it summarizes the essence of political loyalty and its educational thought in traditional Chinese culture.The second part of this chapter is to draw lessons from political loyalty education thought and its practice adopted in different western historical periods,and especially those in typical foreign countries in modern times.First of all,it analyses the evolution of the concept of political loyalty in ancient western culture.Then,based on the account of the political loyalty education situation of typical foreign countries in modern times,it sums up the useful experience deserving to be learned in political loyalty education ideology in modern western countries.Finally,it points out there areinsurmountable inner dilemmas that dwell in the contemporary western political loyalty thought with individual-based value standard,which serves to contrast the unique value of the political loyalty concept advocated by the CPC.The fourth chapter is the “Status Quo of Chinese Youth Political Loyalty Education”.Mainly based on China's reality in the new period of reform and opening up,this part first analyses the challenges of political loyalty education confronted by Chinese Youth against the backdrop of globalization,informationization and marketization,and then briefly reviews the practice of our youth political loyalty education u the since the reform and opening up and sums up the basic experience accumulated therefrom,and finally analyses the main issues that influence the effectiveness of Chinese youth political loyalty education in the new situation from the aspects of educational objectives,content,and approaches etc.The fifth chapter is “Goal and Content of Chinese Youth Political Loyalty Education in the New Situation ”.This chapter is divided into three parts.The first part discusses the political basis,development basis and subjectivity basis of the goal and content of our youth political loyalty education in the new situation in view of its class nature,its historicity and its purposiveness.Based on three core dimensions of emotion,consciousness and behavior of loyalty,the second part analyses in detail the emotional attitude objective,thinking value objective,and behavioral practicing objective of the youth political loyalty education in the new situation.In order to guide the young people to stick to the correct political direction and take a firm and correct political standpoint,and promote basic political qualities of young people at different levels,the third part tries to establish the content structure system of Chinese youth political loyalty education in the new situation mainly from three facets: first,the leading content,namely,the education on the advanced nature of the CPC;second,the basic content,namely,the Chinese spiritual education and rational patriotic education;third,the extended content,namely,the political commitment education and the public gratitude education.The sixth chapter is “ Path Choice on Strengthening the Youth Political Loyalty Education in the New Situation”.In view of the fact that young cadres and young students are the main objects of corruption to hostile forces at home and abroad,this chapter,being divided into two parts,analyses the political loyalty education for young cadres and young students respectively to improve the pertinence.In order to resolve the existing problems,the basic methods for strengthening the political loyalty education path of young cadres in the new situation are as follows: first,make use of and improve the institutionalized channels of education for Party members and cadres to strengthen theoretical training.Second,give fullplay to the role of spiritual guide and typical demonstration of the revolutionist,outstanding communist.Third,grasp the key minority and the major opportunity to effectively improve the tangible effectiveness of education efforts.In the new situation,the basic ways to improve political loyalty education of young students are as follows: to combine the following such ways as highlighting the priorities in school class teaching,innovating the carrier of public loyalty culture and innovating the form of social practice for the purpose of improving the effectiveness of education through sublimating the inner psychology need of young students.The innovation of this dissertation is mainly embodied in three aspects: first,it analyses the cultural connotation and main features of basic concepts by resorting to the ethical relationship between heaven and people,public and private,loyalty and filial piety,deepening the research on basic categories of the subject of political loyalty education.The scientific understanding of the basic categories of loyalty,political loyalty and political loyalty education is a meta-question of the research on the subject of political loyalty education.Lacking of in-depth and systematic theoretical research on this meta question accounts for the reason why the current findings are mostly bogged down in the simple deduction of basic meaning,while rarely grasp the cultural connotation and main features of these concepts in a particular moral relation,leading to a long-term randomness of utilization and understanding of these concepts.This research makes a discussion on the cultural origins and practicing concept of loyalty and political loyalty by resorting to human-nature relations,public-private relations,loyalty-filial piety relations,and loyalty-moral integrity relations.These moral relations dominate and regulate people's loyalty behavior and loyalty practice,affecting the historical construction of the loyalty ethics.Second,this research analyses the advanced nature and historic progress of Marxist concept of political loyalty based on Marxist theory of human emancipation,enriching the theoretical perspective of the research on the value of Marxist concept of political loyalty.The Marxist concept of political loyalty is the guiding ideology and theoretical basis of this research,and the theoretical demonstration of its advanced nature is the key to the research.The study on the value of Marxist concept of political loyalty by present academia mainly relies on the classical paradigm of being “loyal to the proletarian Party,loyal to the dictatorship of the proletariat,loyal to the interests of the working masses and loyal to the cause of communism”.In order to highlight the unique advantage of Marxist concept of political loyalty,this research,based on Marx's theory of human emancipation,emphasizes the establishment of the subjective position of people as the prerequisite and final purpose of Marxist concept of political loyalty.Such being the case,it is obviously more progressive than traditional concept of political loyalty that resorts todepressing the human subjectivity,sacrificing human personality freedom for achieving the ruling order.Third,this dissertation systematically studies the goal of political loyalty education for Chinese young people in the new situation from three core dimensions of emotion,consciousness and behavior in loyalty character,and expands the perspective of relevant research.As the core goal of youth education,loyalty and reliability have been established as educational regulations.However,there is little discussion on the specific objectives of youth political loyalty education within the academia.Under the new circumstance,it is difficult to apply traditional static objectives of the ideal type and the expectation type to effectively guide the youth's thinking and behavior;therefore,this research focuses on the exploration of the subject's quality and ability.It also analyzes in detail the emotional attitude objective,thinking value objective,and behavioral practicing objective of the youth political loyalty education in the new situation based on emotion,consciousness,and behavior with loyalty as the foundation and the dynamic and structural goals as the orientation.It provides a more specific direction for young people to consciously stick to the political characters of being loyal to the Party,loyal to the country,and loyal to the people.
