Research On Xi Jinping’s Global Governance System Reform Thought

Global governance,both theoretical and practical,had been dominated by the west for a long time.However,it was quite true that global governance was suffering deficit,as human beings were facing more and more survival challenges.Facts have proved that the global governance system would be reformed.As a rising power,China’s attitude and strategy towards global governance system reform have great influence on the achievement of Two Centenary Goals,as well as the fate of mankind.On March 27,2013,Xi Jinping made the statement that "No matter how the global governance system changes,we should participate in it actively and play a constructive role."It was his first talk on global governance and was during his first visit as president of PRC.After that,Xi Jinping expounded China’s global governance system reform view for several times and Xi Jinping’s global governance system reform thought is gradually taking shape.Xi’s global governance system reform thought has profound theoretical origins and solid practical foundation.On one hand,traditional Chinese culture,Marxist international political theory and Chinese diplomatic experience have played important roles in the forming of Xi’s thought.On the other hand,the realistic environment of China also deeply affected Xi’s global governance thought,including China’s international status,diplomatic experience,fast growing economy and capacity of supplying international public goods.Xi’s global governance system reform thought mainly contains four aspects.Firstly,Xi expounded the core elements of global governance system reform,including the purposes,subjects and objects of this process.Secondly,Xi deemed that it was inevitable to reform global governance system as the international pattern,rule and benefit were all changing.Thirdly,Xi proposed to build a community of shared future for mankind to propel the reform,and described the principles,ideas and structures of global governance respectively.Finally,Xi argued that China should participate in global governance actively.In his speeches on different occasions,Xi analyzed China’s role,interest composition,challenges,capacity building and actions in the process of global governance system reform.With its rich theoretical connotation and practical results,Xi’thought has revealed the historical laws of the reform of the global governance system,contributed Chinese wisdom in enriching global governance theory,and provided an action guide for China to formulate external strategies and participate in global governance.
