General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out in the report to the 19 th CPC National Congress that culture is the soul of a country and a nation.Our country will thrive only if our culture thrives,and our nation will be strong only if our country is strong.Without a high degree of cultural confidence,without the prosperity of culture,there will be no great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.We must adhere to the cultural development along socialist road with Chinese characteristics,inspire the cultural creative and innovative vitality of our whole nation,and build a strong cultural socialist country.College students are the builders and successors of the socialist cause,and they are the reserve forces of various industries.Their cultural self-confidence has an important influence on the socialist cultural construction.The study and enhancement of cultural self-confidence of college students are of great value to the prosperity and development of national culture and the improvement of education quality of college students.The paper uses literature,survey and experimental methods to conduct research.Chapter One is the introduction,which mainly introduces the background,purpose,significance,ideas and methods of the research and core concepts.With the literature review,it combs the literature of cultural confidence,cultural confidence education and educating people with culture,draws on and absorbs the essence of existing research results,and determines the research issues of the paper.Chapter Two introduces and refines Marx's scientific judgment on the comprehensive development of human beings,Fei Xiaotong's cultural consciousness theory,Macalenko's collectivism education theory,and Bandura's social learning theory,laying a theoretical foundation for the strategic study of this paper.Chapter Three is about the outstanding character and contemporary value of Chinese culture.It summarizes the outstanding character of Chinese excellent traditional culture,Chinese revolutionary culture and socialist advanced culture,as well as their practical values in cultural confidence education of college students,providing factual basis for university cultural confidence education.Chapter Four is mainly about the status quo survey of university cultural confidence education.A total of 13 questions were compiled to make the Cultural Confidence Education Questionnaire for College Students,including 6 single questions and 7 multiple questions,to investigate the current situation of university cultural confidence education and the attitude of the college students.A total of 4803 valid responses were collected from five universities,including Heilongjiang University,Harbin Normal University,Harbin University of Science and Technology,Heilongjiang College of Engineering,and Harbin University.The investigation results provide data support for finding problems,uncovering causes and developing strategies.Chapter Five sets forth the problems existing in cultural confidence education in contemporary universities.It summarizes five problems: cultural confusion,lost value,lack of system,lack of innovation and formalism.Chapter Six analyzes the causes of the problems existing in cultural confidence education in universities,which can be summarized as the negative influence of modern historical cultural trends,the influence of market economy and culture,the impact of western culture,and the shortcomings of universities themselves.Chapter Seven is mainly about the comparative experiment on cultural confidence education,introducing the process and results of groups of intervention experiments on cultural confidence education conducted in one university in Harbin.The experimental results show that it is very effective in improving the cultural quality of college students and cultivating the cultural confidence of college students to carry out “educating people with culture”,curriculum education on studies of Chinese ancient civilization,cultural lectures,Chinese classics reading activities and cultural seminars in a purposeful,planned and organized way.Chapter Eight is about the effective strategies for improving cultural confidence education in contemporary universities,putting forward six strategies for improving university cultural confidence education in the new era.The first is to adhere to the all-round development of people and lead the university cultural confidence education in the new era.The second is to firmly cultivate cultural awareness and promote the university cultural confidence education in the new era.The third is to inherit the excellent Chinese culture and bear the university cultural confidence education in the new era.The fourth is to strengthen ideological and political education and promote the university cultural confidence education in the new era.The fifth is to deepen reform,innovation and development,and strengthen the university cultural confidence education in the new era.The sixth is to strengthen the construction of campus culture and guarantee the university cultural confidence education in the new era.Therefore,the cultural confidence education in universities in the new era should be systematically designed and coordinated,and finally constructed into a cultural education model with good performance and remarkable effects.
