Research On Chinese Enterprise Credit Construction From The Perspective Of Integrity Quality

In recent years,people have gradually realized that credit is of great significance to the stable and healthy development of society.The academic and business circles have intensively explored the credit system construction of individuals,enterprises and the government.Among them,enterprise credit system is of critical importance in the whole social credit system.Therefore,improving enterprise credit system plays a major and positive role in promoting the construction of social credit system.Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,the construction of Chinese enterprise credit system has been greatly strengthened.However,dishonesty emerges endlessly in the products,services and finance of enterprises;such problems as food safety,hotel hygiene and so on continue to provoke consumers’ nerves;triangle debt increases the risk of financial system as a whole.It means that current enterprise credit construction in China does not fundamentally curb the spread of corporate dishonesty,and many credit incidents have been threatening people’s health and safety and economic interests,and destroyed the credit environment of socialist market economy.It is highly crucial for us to further study enterprise credit construction in China.The enterprise credit construction in China should not just confine to the construction of its regime,procedure and technology,it should attach more importance to the cultivation of integrity quality.Integrity quality emphasizes the organic combination of concept and behaviors,which means the construction of credit procedure and technology alone can not guarantee people’s faithful behaviors.Besides,just relying on institutional constraints does not necessarily guarantee that everyone can act in good faith as well.First,if people do not have integrity awareness,the credit system practically does not perform its function effectively.Second,effective credit system must be designed and implemented by people with credit awareness,otherwise it must be incompatible.In view of current literatures on China enterprise credit construction,we find that they mainly focuses on enterprise credit construction in terms of its regime,technology and evaluation system,few literatures discuss integrity quality or just study the basic concept of integrity quality without further exploring its spiritual essence and concept guarantee.Therefore,this paper plans to explore the credit construction of Chinese enterprise from the perspective of integrity quality in order to find the root cause of enterprise dishonesty in China.As is known,any quality is a stable behavior intention dominated by certain concepts(or beliefs),and integrity awareness becomes the spiritual foundation of honest quality,which is the premise and guarantee of enterprise credit.With honesty quality as the start point,this paper demonstrates the relationship between integrity quality and enterprise credit.At the same time,drawing on the Confucian integrity ideology,the paper discusses the establishment of integrity awareness and the cultivation of integrity quality,and further explores the strategy and path of enterprise credit construction as well.In the perspective of integrity quality,we conduct indepth theoretical analysis on enterprise credit,and sort out enterprise credit concept in the context of social ethics,economics and legal institutions,covenants and management,and explore the manifestation of enterprise credit from three aspects:the internal behavior relationships between employees and shareholders;the external behavior relationships with other enterprises,banks,consumers;as well as the behavior relationships with the government.Based on the analysis of the relationships between integrity quality and enterprise credit,we suggests that integrity quality is of key importance in enterprise credit,it could mitigate the instability,backwardness and high cost nature of institutional constraints to some extent.In other words,integrity quality is conductive to the formation of stable and durable credit behaviors of credit entities compared with institutional constraints.On the other hand,this paper also finds that enterprise values and managers’ personal values will eventually achieve a unified state,which means enterprise integrity is consistent with the integrity quality of managers.Therefore,it is reasonable and feasible to explore the strategy and path of enterprise credit construction from the perspective of integrity quality.In the paper,we analyze the reasons for the current status and the absence of enterprise credit in China as well.We discuss China’s credit construction development in a macro way from such three aspects as the credit construction of individuals,enterprises and the government.In order to further reveal the current status of enterprise credit in China,we studies 34 listed Internet financial companies from 2012-2016,and draws the conclusion that the current status of the overall credit status of sample enterprises is worth serious consideration,which is deeply affected by enterprise integrity quality.We further discuss the reasons for credit absence and dishonesty behaviors of enterprises,and conclude that the predicament of China enterprise credit construction is concurrently led by integrity quality absence,disconnected enterprise culture,ineffective supervision mechanism and imperfect admissibility mechanism,and among which the lack of integrity quality is the root cause of enterprise dishonesty.Drawing on the Confucian integrity ideology,we discuss the cultivation of honesty quality.We first sort out the Confucian integrity ideology in order to learn as much as possible from the ideology,it is found that Confucian integrity ideology can awaken the inner conviction of sincerity of credit entities,thus cultivating their integrity quality,and promoting their credit behaviors to certain extent.At the same time,it is suggested that Confucian spirit with integrity quality as its core is of great ethical value for current business mode.Therefore,we suggest that we should take Confucian integrity ideology as the spiritual resources of integrity quality cultivation,creating an atmosphere of integrity in families,schools,enterprises and the whole society,so as to improve the integrity quality awareness of social members and promote the cultivation of integrity quality through the close combination of self-discipline and heteronomy.The paper explores the strategies of enterprise credit construction as well.In terms of institutions,laws and regulations,we should comprehensively make use of propaganda,education,public opinion,legal system in enterprise credit construction.The basic logic is as follows:integrity cultural atmosphere construction in society→integrity awareness of social members →integrity quality of social members and the social institutions based on integrity→ integrity quality of enterprise employees and enterprise credit institutions→ integrity behaviors of enterprises.As for integrity intention and integrity ability,enterprises can improve integrity awareness of integrity entities through integrity quality cultivation,and then improve enterprise integrity willingness.At the same time,enterprises can build an integrity atmosphere within through integrity quality cultivation as well,which will further influences the individual integrity awareness in terms of one’s credit judgement and moral perception within the enterprises,and at last promotes enterprise integrity willingness as well.Therefore,enterprises should strengthen their concern for their integrity quality,incorporate the integrity quality of their leaders and employees,enterprise integrity cultures,and the integrity-oriented institutions into the enterprise credit evaluation system,and establish enterprise integrity cultures with integrity quality as the core.In conclusion,the significance of the paper lies in that it starts with integrity quality,combining it with enterprise credit system construction,and reveals the spiritual value of enterprises credit system.And it illuminates the effectiveness of both formal institutions(legal system,quality management,staff management and so on)and informal institutions(education,public opinion,corporate culture etc.)should be based on the value unification of individual identification and institutional value connotation.In order to unify the two values,enterprise credit construction should take Confucian integrity ideology as the spiritual resource of integrity quality cultivation,cultivating integrity quality in their leaders and employees,build enterprise integrity culture,and improve quality-oriented enterprise credit institution construction or even develop business mode which is centered on integrity quality.In sum,through the series of means mentioned above,it is likely that enterprise integrity quality will be promoted from the perspectives of both individuals and organizations,and enterprise.credit construction will be further strengthened and improved as well.
