At the present stage, the principal contradiction in Chinese society has been transformed into the contradiction between the people's ever-growing needs for a better life and unbalanced and inadequate development, which is more prominent in underdeveloped areas and border areas. In order to solve the major contradiction in Chinese society and achieve the coordinated development of regional economies, the report of the 19 th national congress of China pointed out to establish a new mechanism for the coordinated development of regional economies. The essence of coordinated development of regional economies is to achieve the unification of regional economic growth and regional economic gap narrowing at the same time, which is not only a reshaping process of economic geography, but also an important measure to solve the main contradiction of Chinese society. Can China achieve the coordinated development of regional economies and how to establish a new mechanism of coordinated development of regional economies? This is obviously a strategic issue concerning China's space development regulation.“The World Development Report 2009”,for the first time, proposes that reshaping world economic geography is a major development idea for the 21 st century. Its core idea is that "unbalanced economic growth and harmonious development" are not contradictory, but can go hand in hand and complement each other. The unification of regional economic growth and regional economic gap narrowing through economic geographical reshaping provides a new theoretical clue and thought for studying the coordinated development of regional economies and establishing a new mechanism of regional economic coordination. However, few scholars have studied regional economic growth and narrowing regional economic gap from the perspective of economic geographical reshaping, and the research on the coordinated development of China's regional economies by relying on economic geographical reshaping is rare.Based on this, this paper will systematically study regional economic growth and gap in China from the perspective of economic geography reshaping. The establishment of a regional coordinated development theory and empirical analysis system based on economic geography reshaping will contribute to the spatial efficiency and equity unification of China's economic growth and promote the formation of spatial justice force, which has important theoretical value and significant practical significance. In terms of theory, this paper introduces the adjacent effect("D")and urbanization("U")into the traditional "3D"(density,distance and division),constructs the theoretical analysis framework of regional economic growth and gap of "4D+U",establishes the theoretical connection between economic geographical remodeling, urbanization and regional growth and integration, and puts forward the theoretical hypothesis of the impact of economic geographical reshapling and urbanization on regional economic growth and gap."4D+U" effectively expands the theoretical basis and theoretical analysis framework of economic geographical reshaping and regional economic coordination. In the empirical analysis, this paper introduces the implicit spatial proximity effect into the measure of gini coefficient, comprehensively measures the regional economic gap,and demonstrates the existence of "inverted u-shaped" structure of regional economic gap of urbanization in China;uses the smooth transformation model, finds out the inflection point value of nonlinear transformation mechanism of urbanization on regional economic gap, which provides an appropriate sample interval of time dimension for further empirical research in this paper. Then, taking the interval to the right of the "inverted U" inflection point as the sample, the convergence model of economic growth is applied to demonstrate the joint effects of economic geographical reshaping and urbanization on regional economic growth and gap,and the robustness test is carried out. This paper uses the convergence model of economic growth to identify the two effects of economic growth and gap narrowing, which is a method innovation.Through comprehensive verification of theoretical hypothesis through empirical analysis, the following main conclusions are obtained:First, there is an "inverted u-shaped" relationship between China's urbanization and regional economic gap, with an inflection point of 48.72%,which occurred in 2010,which shows that with the improvement of urbanization level after 2009,the regional economic gap in China is narrowing.Further research shows that urbanization can promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap at the same time, and its effect on narrowing regional economic gap is greater than "3D".In addition, under the combined action of economic geography reshaping and urbanization, division no longer plays a significant role in regional economic growth;density, traffic density and urbanization have all improved the efficiency of regional economic growth, and the speed of regional economic gap narrowing has also accelerated. This means that it is necessary to combine the micro level and the medium level of economic geographical reshaping for promoting regional economic growth and narrowing regional economic gap, which should not only increase density and shorten distance, but also accelerate the urbanization process.Second, for the whole of China, density and traffic density(distance)have significant influence on regional economic growth and gap.Increasing density and traffic density(distance)can promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap at the same time, and the traffic density has greater effect on regional economic growth and gap than density. At present, division can promote China's regional economic growth, but will widen the regional economic gap. This shows that in the micro level of economic geography reshaping,we should increase the density and shorten the distance to achieve the unity of regional economic growth and narrowing regional economic gap.Third,China's regional economic growth and the narrowing of regional economic gap has a significant spatial effect. The economic growth of neighboring regions can promote local economic growth, but slow down the rate of regional economic gap narrowing. The density, traffic density and urbanization of adjacent areas will have a significant positive effect on the local economic growth and accelerate the narrowing of regional economic gap.Through comparison,it is found that both the efficiency of regional economic growth and the speed of narrowing regional economic gap have been improved under the condition of "4D+U".In other words,in order to promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap,we should not only improve the density, traffic density and urbanization of the region, but also strengthen regional spatial division of labor and cooperation. Finally, under the condition of "3D+U",the regional economic growth and gap effect of different regions and different economic geographical remolding factors are obviously different. The effect of traffic density and urbanization on regional economic growth is not significant in the eastern region, and due to the negative impact of urbanization on regional economic gap narrowing, the effect of density and division on regional economic gap narrowing is weakened, which indicates that the eastern region should promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap by increasing density, reducing division and accelerating urbanization transfer.Traffic density in the central region does not play a significant role in economic growth, density and urbanization can promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap at the same time, division can promote regional economic growth, but it will expand regional economic gap, which indicates that the central region should promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap by increasing density and promoting urbanization. The division of the western region has no significant impact on economic growth, density, traffic density and urbanization have all improved the efficiency of regional economic growth, and the regional economic gap is narrowing faster, which shows that the western region should promote regional economic growth and narrow regional economic gap at the same time by improving density, shortening distance and promoting urbanization process. In view of the research conclusions, this paper has various policy implications.First, the cluster and density will be enhanced by optimizing the industrial structure and increasing investment in human capital.Second,it can improve intra-regional and inter-regional transportation infrastructure construction and shorten the distance by increasing investment in road construction in the central and western regions and strengthening cooperation in road construction between the eastern and central and western regions.Third,it's necessary to break down barriers and reduce division by building a platform for information sharing, strengthening inter-regional trade and cooperation, and promoting integration of public services.Fourth,in order to accelerate the urbanization process in the central and western regions, enhance the agglomeration effect of urbanization, and effectively break the spatial segmentation of resource allocation,it should adopt the policy of attracting talents, carry out industrial transfer to the central and western regions, improve the infrastructure construction of the cities in the central and western regions, standardize the urban management, and improve the hard strength of the cities in science and technology, culture, education, health and medical treatment. Finally,China should establish multiple "center-periphery" development model to strengthen regional division of labor and cooperation, break down industrial division, and improve the integration of regional economic growth through the "Two Horizontal and Three Vertical" urbanization strategy and "One Belt and One Road".
