The level of logistics operation is a main indicator of economy development. Improvement of logistics system not only contributes to the competitive power of the whole nation, but also means reformation to the traditional ways of micro economy. Along with the development of regional economy, the relationship between different performances in different regions and different stages of economy progress is more related to each other.The fundamental purpose of the dissertation is to systematically demonstrate the relation between the regional logistics and regional economy by taking the Yangtze River Delta where logistics is relatively developed as a sample for analyze. The main contents of this dissertation are as follows:(1) Generalized classic regional economy theories in different developing stages; verified theory foundation of regional logistics system; systematically analyzed the characters of correlation between regional economy and regional logistics.(2) Qualitatively analyzed the current situation of regional logistics and regional economy growth in Yangtze River Delta.(3) Empirically investigates the role of logistics in long running regional economic growth of Yangtze River Delta's provinces over period 1978-1991, 1992-1999, 2000-2006. A panel data approach is used for estimation. The results demonstrate that regional logistics performance and logistics demands are significantly and positively correlated to regional economic growth. The result further indicates that the contribution of logistics varies among the regional economic performance, and logistics performance had a more positive impact on higher levels of regional economy.(4) Give some advices on the planning of developing logistics in Yangtze River Delta.
