Under the background of Supply side-reform,the development of comprehensive tourism and high quality tourism,tourism enterprises need keep growing.Among the many factors affecting the growth of tourism enterprises,social capital and enterprise transformation and upgrading are recognized as the key factors.As an intermediary between the demand side and the supply side in the tourism industry,tourism enterprises are in the core position of the tourism industry chain and leave the full cooperation of the tourism enterprises.The economic activities of the tourism industry are difficult to carry out.Among them,the small and medium-sized tourism enterprises,which occupy half of the tourism market in scale,become the key to determine the growth of tourism industry.However,compared with mature tourism enterprises,small and medium-sized tourism enterprises have a large gap in resource acquisition,utilization,integration,digestion and absorption.Especially in the critical period of the transformation and upgrading of Chinaundefineds tourism market,small and medium-sized tourism enterprises are faced with more severe environmental changes and resource constraints,and the boundaries of tourism enterprises continue to expand.In addition,the innate characteristics of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises need to take out resources and transform and upgrade to maintain lasting vitality and growth.As a natural bridge connecting the demand and supply of tourism,small and medium-sized tourism enterprises are located in the tourism market network and obtained resources,and internalized into the basis of transformation,upgrading and growth.So is social capital the direct cause of the growth of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises? In the process of the internalization of the external social capital,have the small and medium tourism enterprises carried on the corresponding transformation and the upgrade? Are there any differences in the impact of various dimensions of social capital on the transformation,upgrading and growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises? These problems are great significance to reveal the effect of social capital on the growth and performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises,and are also important problems that need to be solved urgently.Therefore,this study selects small and medium-sized tourism enterprises as the research object,focusing on the theme of how small and medium-sized tourism enterprises to achieve transformation and upgrade through social capital and improve growth performance.The purpose of this paper is to reveal the inner logic of how individual small and medium-sized tourism enterprises to realize their growth through the embedded social network resources from a microscopic perspective,and to provide theoretical guidance and reference paths for the transformation,upgrading and growth of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises in China.Based on the above research background,this paper mainly studies the following issues:Firstly,the paper constructed a theoretical model between the social capital,transformation and upgrading,growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.Secondly,The paper analyses that social capital influence on firms' transformation and upgrading,also have a significant impact on small and medium-sized tourism enterprises growth performance,and then put forward the corresponding assumptions;Thirdly,Combined with the research topic,the paper determines the dimension division of the main variables,the measurement method and the measurement item,and determines the formal questionnaire on the basis of the small sample pre-investigation and the analysis of the reliability and validity of the questionnaire.Fourthly,using the collected data to test the impact of social capital on the transformation and upgrading,and the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises,analyses the path-dependent differences of different dimensions of enterprise transformation and upgrading in the intermediary role.Finally,under the circumstances of environment dynamic,the different dimensions of social capital have the same effect on the transformation and upgrading of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises in China.Through research,we have conclusions are as follows:(1)All the dimensions of social capital have significant impact on the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.Due to their inherent disadvantages,small and medium-sized tourism enterprises need to utilize resources from network and internalize into social capital.They should dig out and solve deep-seated problems,constantly reconcile increasingly prominent labor and capital conflicts,reduce transaction costs,and obtain various resources needed for growth;(2)Social capital through the impact transforming and upgrading of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises to promote their growth performance.Growth performance is the standard to test whether the small and medium-sized tourism enterprises are successful or not.Therefore,"social capital transformation and upgrading" has become a new way to improve the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.Thirdly,the environmental dynamics plays a significant role in the positive adjustment between cognition dimension of social capital and tourism enterprise transformation and upgrading.The main innovations of this study include :(1)Developed the measurement scale of SMEs' transformation and upgrading in China context.The reliability and validity of the scale were empirically tested by in-depth interview and questionnaire prediction,and the measurement scale was used to measure the transformation and upgrading of China's SMEs.(2)The paper reveals the impact aboutd diffirent dimensions of social capital on the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.By analyzing the content of antecedent variables of the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises,this paper discusses the mechanism of different dimensions of social capital on the growth performance of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises.(3)This study put forward the theoretical framework model of social capital,transformation and upgrading,and enterprise growth performance.This model reveals how small and medium-sized tourism enterprises use social capital to realize the process of enterprise growth,and through empirical research to test the impact of small and medium-sized tourism enterprises growth of the intermediary process,enrich the theory of tourism enterprises growth.
