The Comparative Research On Government Supporting System To Small And Medium Tourism Enterprises Between China And UK

SMTEs(Small and medium tourism enterprises) make up the majority of enterprises in the industry, providing a very diverse range of tourism products and services and facilitating the rapid infusion of tourism into local economies. The development of SMTEs requires favorable external environment. To improve it, many countries which succeed in SMEs development are all have the perfect system of government supporting to SMEs (small and medium enterprises). UK has been already ahead of the world tourism industry, for its tourism industry develops comparatively maturely. And UK government pays much attention to SMEs because of its importance to the national economy. So the successful experiences of the UK government are good references for Chinese government to develop the supporting systems.This thesis comprises five parts. The introduction mainly discusses the significance, the framework, the innovative points, the research methods and literature sum-up. On the basis of analyzing the SMES, the first chapter points out the importance of the government assistance to SMEs, discusses the nature of modern tourism industry and the relationship between modern tourism and SMEs and holds that modern tourism industry is agreeable for developing SMEs. Then it analyzes the characteristics of SMTEs and the roles SMTEs plays in this industry. After comparing the actual situations of tourism industry and SMTEs between China and UK, the second chapter points out that the development potential of UK SMTEsis not as good as that of China, but its social environment and government supporting are much better. In the third chapter, comparative researches are conducted on the supporting system of administration, law, finance and revenue, financing and socializing service, and the existing problems of China's government supporting system to SMTEs are indicated simultaneously. Finally, the thesis is ended using the successful experiences about UK government supporting system to SMTEs for references and making some suggestions to improve government supporting system to SMTEs.
