With the continuous development of reform and opening up and the deepening of the reform of the market economy,China's export trade has achieved rapid development. However, with the gradual weakening of comparative advantages such as population, land and policies, increasing resource and environmental constraints, and continued sluggish demand in the international market, the growth rate of China's export trade has slowed down significantly in recent years, and even experienced negative growth. In this context,it has become one of the important ways to improve the quality of export products in order to get rid of the current difficulties and achieve the sustained and steady development of Chinese export trade. At present, more and more scholars have begun to pay attention to the quality of export products, especially the development of new and new trade theories, thanks to the continuous optimization of mathematical models. Many foreign scholars try to explain the new phenomenon of international trade from the perspective of export product quality and explore the internal mechanism of export product quality upgrade. In contrast, the research on the quality of China's export products started later.Among the existing research on the basic characteristics of the quality of Chinese export products, few literatures have analyzed the quality distribution characteristics of export products; At the same time,in the research on the factors affecting the quality of Chinese export products, most of the literature also ignored the factors such as the level of economic development, income distribution and trade liberalization of trading partner countries may have an impact on the upgrading of export product quality. In view of this, this paper examined the distribution and horizontal characteristics of the quality of Chinese export products at the level of the total, industry and trading partners. On this basis, the paper analyzed the impact of economic development level, income distribution and trade liberalization on the quality upgrading of China's export products. Then, using the social network analysis method to analyze the evolution trend of the position of Chinese export products in different trade networks, this paper put forward the strategy and path of upgrading the quality of Chinese export products.Subsequently, this paper examined the distribution of the quality of Chinese export products and their changing trends, and found that at present, the quality of Chinese export products is still mainly low-quality products, and the quality of products still need to be improved, but the proportion of low-quality products exported has declined. The proportion of exports of medium-quality products has risen, and the proportion of exports of high-quality products has remained basically unchanged.Second, from the industrial level, the three industries of food, beverage, wine vinegar and tobacco products, wood, straw and products, and wood pulp, paper and products are mainly exports of medium-sized products. The remaining 18 industries mainly exported low-quality products,of which the proportion of high-quality products in plant products and animal and vegetable oils and lipid products was relatively high, and the proportion of medium-sized products in machinery, electrical equipment and transportation equipment. The proportion of exports showed an upward trend. In terms of trading partner countries,China exports higher quality and middle quality products to high-income countries than low-and middle-income countries.According to the international comparison of the quality distribution of export products, the export ratio of high-quality products in developed countries was higher than that of other countries and regions, while the export ratio of low-quality products was significantly lower than that of other countries and regions. This article then examined the impact of the level of economic development and income distribution in the trading partner countries on the quality of China's export products, and found that the unit value of China's export products would increase as the per capita income level of the trading partner increases. The widening income gap in countries with secondary income also helped to increase the unit value of Chinese exports.Furthermore, the article divided the export products into the same quality products and the difference products as well as the products with different technical level. It was found that the economic development level and income distribution of the trading partner countries have different effects on the value of different export products in China. Then, the paper also empirically analyzed the effect of trade liberalization of final and intermediate products on the quality of Chinese export products, and found that tariff reduction of intermediate products was conducive to the improvement of the unit value of Chinese export products. The effect of final product tariff reduction on the unit value of Chinese export products was not clear. In terms of subsectors, tariff concessions for intermediate goods were only conducive to increasing the unit value of export products in labor-intensive and technology-intensive industries, while tariff concessions for final goods were only conducive to increasing the unit value of export products in technology-intensive industries. In order to analyze the strategy and route of upgrading the quality of Chinese export products, this paper analyzed the evolution of the position of Chinese export products in three types of global trade network and "the Belt and Road" trade network by means of social network analysis. The study found that China is already at the core of the global trade network for middle-and low-quality products and the Belt and Road trade network, but in the global trade network for high-quality products. The status is less than that of the United States,Italy,Germany,France and other developed countries. Then, this paper considered that further strengthening quality product trade cooperation with developed countries and grasping the Belt and Road strategy were the main strategies and paths for upgrading the quality of China's export products. The policy implications of the above conclusions were: In order to improve the quality of export products, get rid of the current trade difficulties, and achieve high-quality development of export trade,China should grasp the core position advantages and optimize the distribution of export markets; We would deepen trade liberalization, improve the tariff policy system, and improve the role of tariff regulation.Improve high-tech industrial policies;Effective measures shall be taken to promote investment in R&D by enterprises.
