The Research On The Influences Of Intermediate Products Trade Liberalization On The Quality Of Chinese Exports

The booming trade in intermediate products has brought about the reform of global trade liberalization,especially the reform of intermediate products trade liberalization.If the trade liberalization of final products is regarded as the welfare of consumers,then the trade liberalization of intermediate products can be regarded as the gospel of producers.Since the 1990 s,the Chinese government has lowered the import tariffs of intermediate products several times,reduced the use of non-tariff barriers such as import licenses for intermediate products,and strived to create a broader and freer space for the growth of domestic enterprises,and contributed to the integration of the world economy.Based on this domestic and international background,this paper makes full use of the effective information of the databases of China's industrial enterprises and customs trade from 2000 to 2007,and tries to find the internal correlation between the trade liberalization of intermediate products and the quality of China's export products.On the one hand,we have sorted out the existing relevant research literature and tried to analyze the possibility and conditions of trade liberalization of intermediate products affecting export quality from the perspective of theoretical mechanism;on the other hand,on the basis of realistic analysis and quality determination framework,this paper uses benchmark fixed effect model,intermediary effect model,double difference method and instrumental variable method respectively to empirically test the actual effect of trade liberalization of intermediate products on the quality of export products of enterprises.Through the research,we can find that the trade liberalization of intermediate products has indeed brought a positive effect on the i mprovement of the quality of China's export products.Furthermore,intermediate product trade liberalization can bring technology promotion effect,quality transformation effect,import diversification effect and cost decline effect,and deeply affect the production and foreign trade activities of enterprises through these four kinds of intermediary effects,and finally create more space and possibility for the improvement of the quality of enterprises' export products.At the same time,we also find that r egional differences interfere with the effect of intermediate products trade liberalization on the quality of export products.Compared with the western regions,the export quality of enterprises in the eastern coastal regions and the central inland region s is more affected by the trade liberalization of intermediate products.In addition,the heterogeneous characteristics of enterprise total factor productivity,enterprise scale,enterprise age,enterprise profitability,enterprise ownership,enterprise pe r capita wage level have a different impact on the quality of export products.
