Abstract/Summary:
When I was a boy, my family and I would go on, what seemed to me, a very long trip that started in Madrid, where we would first cross the yellowish fields of La Mancha, continuing onto the mosaic farmlands of Murcia, and then we would climb up La Cadena mountain pass where we would make out with great excitement the coastal plain of the Minor Sea from a distance on clear days; that yearned for Mediterranean Sea that bathes Cape Palos, my paradise.;Not on few occasions did this long trip last up to the early hours of the morning, and from this scenic viewpoint on La Cadena mountain pass, we were able to discern in the midst of the dark night the lights shinning from the Minor Sea coastline; first San Javier, then Los Alcazares, extending out to the glowing line tracing La Manga, and even further in the background, we could see the beam of the Cape Palos Light House, something which undoubtedly exhilarated my sisters and me.;These memories, along with the perception of the changes that have occurred in this area, have awoken my interest in this Environtment, because of what it has been, what it is, and what it should be in the future.
