Trip behavior theory is one of the most important theories in the area of traffic management and control. Trip behavior research is a basic work for the urban traffic programming, construction, and also it is an important project in the range of urban sociology study. Going-to-work trip is the basic behavior in individual life, which may affect all sides of the urban life. Especially, nowadays the traffic congest problem at the trip peak has been stand out in the city, which has been a key factor holding back economic development. According to the urban resident trip survey, and taking the going-to-work trip as a study object, the trip rules and characteristics can be elicited, which have very important reference value for us to constitute and implement the travel demand manage policy, and to solve the traffic congest problem.The dissertation firstly sets forth the theory of the trip behavior and discrete model, summarizes some indexes which are used to describe the going-to-work trip behavior and the behavioral attributes. Then, the dissertation analyzes the basic characteristics of going-to-work trip and working trip chaining, and the connections between the mode choice and the individual/household socio-demographic attributes. And then Logistic model is introduced to study the mode choice of going-to-work trip and analyze the influence of the individual/household and socioeconomic attributes on the mode choice. The forecast with Logistic model proves that it is suit to the mode choice research, having a high rate of validity. In addition, it also proves that the mode choice relates with individual sex, individual age, household income, the number of bicycle, the number of car, trip distance and so on. Finally, according to the model conclusion, the dissertation explains and forecasts the mode choice of going-to-work trip, and analyzes the sensitivity of the behavioral attributes to the mode choice of going-to-work trip.The dissertation utilizes the theories of statistics and traffic regulation, integrates the urban resident trip survey, and studies the characteristics of going-to-work trip behavior. Not only it will have a great realistic meaning for explaining going-to-work trip behavior, forecasting the quantity of going-to-work trip, making the political measures how to control and lead the residents' trip decisions. But also it will provide the scientific evidence for establishing the traffic system regulation and perfecting the traffic polity.
