Organizations are in need of a coherent and concise learning and knowing approach to improve and increase the effectiveness of individuals in receiving and productively using new data, information and knowledge to create organizational wisdom. The purpose of this study was to define, design, develop and validate a prototype Web-based knowledge approach to assist in improving the learning-for-knowing competence of individuals. Using a developmental research methodology involving formative and summative committees for review and validation, a Web-based learning-for-knowing prototype was developed. The content of the prototype has been deemed potentially useful in improving accelerated learning-for-knowing competence for individuals within the workplace, with future improvements to the construct suggested. The content of accelerated learning-for-knowing competence improves the ability of team members to accelerate their learning, learn with the aim of knowing, and learn what to know. The Web-based construct warrants future research into alternative constructs, such as virtual reality environment technology. This prototype supports communication and acquisition of the knowledge and skills associated with the accelerated learning-for-knowing based on the learning style of an individual.
