Abstract/Summary:
This study focused on examining leadership styles and productivity through the study of Rent-A-Center's (i.e., a rent-to-own furniture store) managers and employees. More specifically, the study focused on profits (i.e., as a measure of productivity) generated in El Paso, Texas, stores and the leadership styles of the store managers. The Path-Goal Leadership Style Questionnaire was selected as the quantitative tool/instrument to measure leadership styles (Jermier, 1996). Both dominant and least dominant leadership styles were compared to store profits to find if there was a correlation between Rent-A-Center's profits and its store managers' leadership styles.
