Abstract/Summary:
This is a study of the causes and consequences of international migration. I focus on international migration from a macrostructural, or global, perspective. Given the complexity of international migration, I draw upon an interdisciplinary theoretical framework and employ a multi-methods approach that combines quantitative, cross-national analyses with case studies of countries. The findings demonstrate that international migration is an important cause and consequence of macrostructural processes associated with globalization.
