Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this research study was to investigate the effects of the investment activities of multinational oil corporations on the fiscal policy of Nigeria, and the implications for the host communities, the Niger Delta. The study recommended possible solutions for the concerns and issues of the Niger Delta Region. This study utilized mixed methodology to achieve its objectives. The findings of the study indicated that the investment activities of oil multinationals relate to the fiscal policies of the Nigerian. Secondly, the Nigerian government did not utilize fiscal policy measures to address the concerns and issues of the Niger Delta Region. These were evident with the respondents concerns for poverty, economic problems, and lack of rural infrastructures in the region.
