This study was performed to produce an understanding of the meaning and essence of creativity in venture creation with Information Technology (IT) firms. Eight IT CEO entrepreneurs were interviewed in a phenomenological study. Analysis of participants' descriptions revealed 16 themes: origin, fear, emotional highs, belief, belongingness, forward movement, perseverance, optimism, support, freedom, sacrifice, style, multi-tasking, personal growth, unknown, and successes/failures. Analysis of participants' meaning revealed three themes: Opinion of Creativity in Venture Creation, Definition of Creativity in Venture Creation, and The Extended Creation. Last, analysis of essence revealed themes aligning with two frameworks: Maslow's Hierarchy and Goleman's Emotional Intelligence Domains. |
