Study 1 aimed to explore the alpha synchronization activity of different trait social creativity individuals when they manifested high or low state social creativity. Trait social creativity was measured by the Questionnaire of Social Creativity for College Students, and state creativity was assessed by open-ended questionnaire of social problem. Study 1 selected 38 high or low trait creativity participants, recording the brain EEG activity of participants when solving the social creative problem. The repeated measures AN OVA design was used to analyse the result. Result as follows:In the process of creative social problem solving, low state social creativity showed higher alpha synchronization compared with the high state social creativity; Moreover, there was the interaction between trait creativity and state creativity for the alpha synchronization on the upper or lower alpha brand. Further analysis indicated that individuals of high trait social creativity showed the higher alpha synchronization than their counterparts when they presented high state social creativity, while no significant difference was found between individuals of high trait social creativity and their counterparts when they presented low state social creativity; For individuals of low trait social creativity, the higher alpha synchronization on the right hemisphere was stronger than that on the left hemisphere when they manifested the high state social creativity. However, when they manifested low state social creativity, no significant difference was found between right hemisphere and left hemisphere.Based on this, Study 2 make contrast the brain EEG activity between social creative task and the general creative task(divergent thinking task) to investigate that whether the brain activity of different domain of the creative task is different. The divergent thinking task was measured by the Alternative Use Task. The experimental procedure is similar to the study 1. Similarly, The repeated measures ANOVA design was used to analyse the result. By comparing the brain activity of the social creative task with the general creative task (divergent thinking task), divergent thinking task can generate higher alpha synchronization on both the upper alpha and the lower alpha brand. However, the interaction between the task and other variable failed to reach statistical significance.
