Abstract/Summary:
This study examined the relationship between officer level of education and officer disciplinary history in Florida State Troopers. To accomplish the aforementioned, information provided by the Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement related to Florida Highway Patrol troopers education and disciplinary histories was gathered and analyzed. A nonexperimental predictive correlational design was used to determine if there was a statistically significant relationship between police education and discipline within the Florida Highway Patrol. The study found that a statistically significant negative relationship exists between officer level of education and severity of committed disciplinary offenses.
