Abstract/Summary:
Achieving various forms of sustainable development is of global interest. No matter whether the specific focus is on sustaining agriculture, forestry, societies, or economies, water is of paramount importance. Not surprisingly, water has been the focus of innumerable policies and its protection from non-point source (NPS) pollution is central to forestry best management practice (BMP) policy. From this perspective of the forestry profession, water quality and the policies and practices surrounding it, as well as new technologies that are useful in assessing, monitoring and managing it, are the focus of this dissertation.
