| We find ourselves in time of constant political, social, cultural and technological changes. These changes have notably modified the organization models, the company management and company direction. Beginning twenty one century companies confront a variety of changes and experience moments in which the qualitative aspects begin to prevail increasingly over the quantitative aspects, where the people are the basis of the new rules of game. The framework of "Knowledge Management" is currently immersed in an aspect of high relevance, not only accountable, also productive and competitive. This knowledge is currently called Intellectual Capital. This element crossed the financial barrier to become a tool that is highly used in business and academic organization.;Knowledge has become a predominant factor for companies to achieve competitive advantages and to obtain a good position in the financial markets. However even thought the intangibles assets be the greatest source in value creation, they don't usually receive the necessary attention when the entrepreneurs takes business decision.;The universities like business, which goods and services are the knowledge are also been impacted by global changes. The universities are required to know their sources and capabilities, which help them achieve their self-financing and for raising their image as an institution. It necessary for them to evaluate their scientific and intellectual production, the talent of their members, the human and professional compromise, human prestige, the professional qualitative and the technological support for develops their knowledge and to spread it to society.;Chapters I, II and III of this work compile the actual situation of the university faculty members of principal Business and Entrepreneurs School in Puerto Rico. Also this work contributes with a bibliographical research with multiple definitions, several models that measured the intellectual capital. This literature helps to establish the methodological investigation scheme. Chapters IV and V compile the statistical data, analyze conclusions and recommendations. |
