Abstract/Summary:
An ion chromatography system was developed for the separation of Anions. The system was developed specifically for the detection of Cyanide as the result of adulteration of food and medicines. The system developed consisted of both novel software and hardware to accomplish this task.;The software developed included an array integration subroutine, a Fast Fourier Transform subroutine and several high-level language interface for the BFD data acquisition software. The hard ware included A versatile Miniaturized Dual Working Electrode Potentiostat developed for the amperometric detection of anion species and a computer detectable injection valve. The potentiostat with the high and low level software provided the ability to do Cyclic Voltammetry, Step Deposition, Chronocoulometry, Flow analysis, and amperometric detection for ion Chromatography.
