This study assesses the impact of biofeedback on the emotional regulation of an eight-year-old child with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The research aims to identify how cardiac coherence training (CCT), a biofeedback technique, impacts the child's high level of cardiac coherence, heart rate variability, and overall emotional regulation. Literature indicates that CCT has been found to be effective in helping to develop better emotional regulation. The results of biofeedback data and pre- and postteacher rating scales were used to measure performance within an A-B design. The findings from the research show that CCT had a large negative effect on the child's high level of cardiac coherence and heart rate variability. Postrating scales from teachers show varying results. The results and implications for future researchers are discussed.
