School organizational change has become a crucial topic in current educational reforms. The present study proposes a theoretical framework for understanding and managing school organizational change in a holistic and dynamic approach. The framework, "A Dynamic Model of School Organizational Change" consists of three stages of change, namely adoption, implementation and incorporation. It involves not only the individual level, but also the group and organizational levels, and suggests that in order to understand the cognitive, affective, and behavioral changes of school members, research should integrate the technological, cultural and political perspectives.;The study has chosen the implementation of computer-assisted instruction in special school as a case of change, and has adopted document analysis, interview and observation methods to investigate the phenomenon of school change. Results of the study suggest that the model can help interpret the complicated process of school organizational change.;It is hoped that the theoretical framework and findings of this research have significant contribution to the knowledge base of on-going school organizational changes in different parts of the world.
