A regression analysis of certificated salary items in a collective agreement and the budgetary impact on district financial certification

Abstract/Summary:
This study analyzes the impact that certificated salary and benefit items have on school district financial certification as determined by the state of California. Financial certification has three levels including: positive, qualified, and negative.;Several significant relationships existed between financial certification and certificated salary and benefit items using the correlation matrix and analysis of variance. Little relationship existed between the variables using the regression analysis.;Important predictors of school financial certification included fringe benefits, average daily attendance, and salary per average daily attendance.;The study compared eight salary and benefit variables in a correlation matrix, regression analysis, and analysis of variance. The study also addressed the relationship between revenue limits and school district financial certification.
