Abstract/Summary:
new series of alloys based on Ti-modified Nb;A new approach of using Ordering Tie Line has been proposed to describe the B2 ordering state in a multi-component system, and a modified ALCHEMI technique was developed and then used to determine the ordering states of these ternary B2 alloys. It is found that there is a gradual change of ordering states as the Ti content increases from the 10Ti to the 25Ti and finally to the 40Ti alloy. The ordering states of other ternary compounds with different ordered structure have also been discussed.;The mechanical properties including elastic modules, yield stress at various temperatures and room temperature tensile ductility of the 10Ti and the 40Ti alloys have been assessed. The 40Ti alloy, in single phase B2 form, was found to have very good tensile ductility at room temperature, where...
