Abstract/Summary:
The increase in international aid to the Palestinians has caused the NGOs in Palestine to become dependent on foreign aid. Many argue that the international aid system was created to benefit the political agendas of the donors, as opposed to rights and needs of the Palestinians. A comparative case study approach was used in this dissertation to investigate the differences in the national culture of the donors of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in Palestine. Funding reports of eight donor-countries were investigated and analyzed. Conclusions about the national culture were drawn using Hofstede's model of cultural dimensions.
