Abstract/Summary:
Multiple generations of military and civilian leaders interact with one another on a daily basis to direct the United States Navy. Nearly 50% of baby boomers will be eligible for retirement by 2016 creating a need to understand how attitudes towards telework vary between generational groups. The findings from this quantitative, correlational study provide understanding and insight for senior military and civilian leaders regarding workforce demographics. By understanding the organizational and cultural changes that come with shifting attitudes toward telework and work-life balance, military and civilian leaders can position themselves as an employer of choice.
