A new RNA polymerase sigma factor, sigma H, in Bacillus subtilis

In Bacillus subtilis transcription of the sporulation gene spoVG is activated within minutes after the initiation of sporulation. Mutations in several spoO genes prevent the activation of spoVG transcription.
