Abstract/Summary:
The purpose of this study was to investigate the organizational climate of public schools in the Muhayil School District, Saudi Arabia. This purpose was addressed by answering a set of research questions. These questions include, what is the organizational climate of public schools in the Muhayil School District, Saudi Arabia? Is there a difference in the organizational climate between male and female schools? Are there differences in the organizational climate between schools based on school level (elementary, middle and secondary)? Are there differences in the organizational climate between schools based on school enrollment size?;This study was a descriptive quantitative research design. The instrument used for this study was the Organizational Climate Index (OCI). The participants in this study were 298 teachers. The descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data.;The study found that the organizational climate of school was low openness. All dimensions of the organizational climate were low openness. Additionally, the findings indicated there were statistically significant differences between schools according to gender and school level, however, there were not statistically significant differences between schools based on school enrollment size. The explanations of these findings provided these themes, school leader practices, physical environment of school, and school-community relations.
