The cost and efficiency of the distribution center are related to its order sorting system,thus affecting the income of the whole supply chain.In order to improve productivity,the order sorting system is regarded as the highest priority area in the supply chain network.Generally speaking,order sorting costs account for more than55% of distribution center operating costs,and sorting time accounts for 30% to 40%of distribution center operating time.There is no doubt that the optimization of order sorting process is extremely vital for the optimization of the entire tracking process,the whole distribution center and even the whole logistics activities Hence,the analysis and optimization of the performance of order sorting system is a realistic and urgent problem,and its results can be used for rational resource allocation of distribution centers.Order sorting has attracted the attention of many scholars.Although the existing literature discusses the value of order sorting from various perspectives such as sorting path,warehousing strategy and order partitioning,there are still few literatures studying order sorting from the perspective of resource allocation.From the literature review,in the context of the rapid development of e-commerce,the following problems exist in the research of order sorting in distribution centers:(1)Online retail is usually characterized by small orders,multiple varieties and urgent delivery,so the system must have the ability to flexibly adjust the order fulfillment process according to different workloads;(2)Vacation mechanism is an important strategy used to improve the efficiency of resource allocation in queuing theory,and its research has been very systematic,but the market ability of using vacation strategy to allocate resources in order sorting system needs to be further verified;(3)Because queuing theory involves abstract mathematical problems such as quasi-birth and death process,probability distribution,state transfer,random decomposition and so on,it is very challenging for general managers or ordinary operators of sorting centers to apply these analytical theories and research methods to guiding practice.In daily life,analysis tools that are easy to use,intuitive and visual,and can be used to guide the hardware and software configuration of the sorting center have become an urgent need.Based on the above background,this paper takes unit materials as the research object,closely centering on the basic problem of “vacation strategy optimization system resource allocation of order sorting and queuing system”.Starting from the queuing process of unit material order sorting,this paper establishes the theoretical model,mathematical analysis model,data calculation and simulation verification of order sorting system vacation queuing.Through key performance indicators of vacation queuing system is optimized,find the factors affecting the efficiency of the system bottlenecks,get take strategy and the optimal allocation of sorting line,vacations operating order sorting system can meet the requirements of established customer service quality,at the same time by adjusting the low utilization of reception to meet the requirements of the state of green distribution,Provide enterprise managers with theoretical guidance and decision support for system operation.In this paper,theoretical research and empirical analysis are combined,literature review,theoretical modeling,numerical calculation and simulation,system optimization and other methods are integrated to discuss the above problems.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to study the following aspects:(1)From the perspective of optimizing the resource allocation of order sorting system,the theoretical model of “order sorting leave queuing” is proposed by reviewing the research status of order sorting literature,and the calculation of vacation service capability is added to the dimension of performance index of classical queuing system.(2)This paper establishes a mathematical model for “order sorting leave queuing” and simulates the correctness of the mathematical model.Starting from the queuing process of unit material order sorting,the M/M/C queuing model of partial sorting lines(service desk)with single synchronous leave,M/M/C queuing model of partial sorting lines(service desk)with multiple synchronous leave,and M/M/C queuing model of partial sorting lines(service desk)with multiple asynchronous leave were established.Based on the actual data of order sorting in a large logistics distribution center in January 2022,the maximum likelihood estimation method is used to obtain the average value of the samples,and simulation software is used to verify the analytical formula given by three vacation queuing models,so as to solve the key problems in quantitatively calculating the performance indicators of order sorting system.The classical queuing system can be compared with the queuing system with vacation mechanism,which highlights the importance of applying vacation strategy.(3)The adjustment effect of synchronous leave and asynchronous leave modes on the resource allocation of order sorting system is systematically studied.By comparing the service capacity of synchronous leave and asynchronous leave system with that of order sorting system without leave from multiple angles,the appropriate leave strategy,the number of leave service desk and the potential bottleneck in system configuration can be found,providing data support for optimizing resource allocation.(4)With the help of Anylogic production simulation function,a simulation system for three kinds of vacation queuing system is created.The actual data of order sorting system is input into the simulation model of order sorting by using Anylogic pedestrian database modeling and combining with the Agent technology of the software.In order to better verify the mathematical modeling and study the order sorting leave queuing system cost effectiveness and social economic value.In a word,vacation strategy is a scheme that flexibly provides resource allocation suggestions to the system according to the load rate of the system.By introducing vacation strategy into the queuing system of order sorting and processing,it can help the system improve its ability to flexibly adjust the order fulfillment process according to different workloads.The unique characteristics of the vacation strategy,such as flexibility,economy and practicality,provide a flexible and economic construction scheme for logistics service enterprises to cope with the e-commerce retail environment with fewer orders,more varieties and unstable demands and realize green distribution.This provides theoretical support and management suggestions for order sorting center to improve quality and efficiency-reduce carbon cost and enhance market competitiveness.
