As the largest carbon emitter in the world,China is faced with great pressure to reduce the carbon emissions.City is the major source of greenhouse gases,more than70% carbon dioxide emissions come from urban energy consumption.With the deepening promotion of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei synergetic development strategy,establishing a new regional coordinated development mechanism with the urban agglomeration as the main body is an important measure for China to adere to the green and low-carbon development path.Therefore,analyzing the problems of the urban agglomeration carbon emissions is of great significance for China to achieve emission reduction targets.This dissertation takes the 13 cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration as the research object,and carries out an in-depth study on the problems of their carbon emissions.The detailed research contents and major research conclusions are as follows:(1)Based on the SBM model with the undesirable outputs,the carbon dioxide emission efficiency of the 13 cities in the Bejing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration from 2008 to 2017 was evaluated,then,by constructing the emission reduction potential index considering the fairness and efficiency,their emission potential was analyzed.The results showed that the carbon dioxide emission efficiency of different cities in the study period was significantly different.From the overall performance,the emission efficiency of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration fluctuated and increased,and the carbon dioxide emission reduction potential of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration presented a relatively stable and slightly increased trend.Individually,Beijing and Baoding had the lower emission reduction potential index and less room for emission reduction,Tangshan had the highest emission reduction potential index and huge room for emission reduction.Considering the principle of fairness and efficiency of the emission reduction potential,13 cities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration could be divided into four categories.According to the results,the corresponding suggestions have been provided for the carbon emission reduction work of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration in the future.(2)Based on the STIRPAT theory model,the panel data regression method was adopted to empirically analyze the influencing factors of carbon emissions of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration,and compared it with Yangtze river delta,Pearl river delta urban agglomeration.According to the regression results,the relationship between urbanization development and carbon emissions presented a “U”curve,there existed an “inverted U” curve relationship between the economic development and carbon emissions,and the population had a significant positive correlation with the carbon emissions,the impact of the industrial structure on the carbon emissions was relatively small,the energy intensity had a significant positive impact on the carbon emissions,compared with the industrial structure,the energy intensity was the major influencing factors of the carbon emissions.(3)Based on the social network analysis method,the spatial network and correlation of the carbon emissions of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration had been discussed,and by constructing the synergetic carbon abatement effect model,the synergetic carbon abatement effect had been measured.The results showed that the carbon emission spatial correlation network of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration presented a typical “center-edge” structure,Beijing and Tianjin were in the center position in carbon emission spatial network,while the other cities were in the weak position.The synergetic carbon abatement effect of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration presented a trend of first rising and then falling,and there was still great room for improvement of the overall synergetic level.On this basis,the synergetic carbon abatement mechanism of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei urban agglomeration had been discussed and the corresponding implemention path of synergetic abatement had been put forward.
