Recently, most of the studies on the competition and cooperation between rail transit and ordinary public transport at home and aboard concentrate more on the cooperation of the connection of ordinary public transport and rail transit, site matching and transfer passenger flow matching but less on competition between bus rapid transit(BRT)and metro, both of which are equipped with similar service quality, exclusive road-use rights and independent operation. In addition,in order to deal with excessive traffic pressure issued by the radial streets network in downtown, many cities have operated bus rapid transit on the ring corridor to intercept and divert passenger flows. However, researches on the circular passenger flow corridor and the circular public transportation system are insufficient.Chengdu, the only city in China which has operated both circular BRT and circular subway, can serve as an important reference for the study of circular passenger flow corridors and circular public transportation system. Therefore,This dissertation takes the "double ring" transportation system composed of Chengdu Ring BRT and Metro Line 7 as an example for research.Firstly, the "double ring" transportation system is analyzed from the perspective of competition and cooperation. The cooperation perspective mainly studies the attraction range of the circular public transportation system based on the generalized cost model and the Markov chain model. The competition perspective mainly studies the passengers travel behavior.Secondly, this dissertation proposes an improved mental accounting model, which expands the original mental accounting model from the two aspects of value function model and the integration of gain and loss, improves the application of mental accounting theory on travel behavior, and compares the results of mental accounting model and MNL model. Also, the validity and adaptability of the improved mental accounting model are verified by actual data. Finally,it has used actual operational data to analyze the competitive characteristics and co-opetition effect of Chengdu "double ring" transportation system, and summarizes the law of variation of the passenger flow with the distance of "double ring" transportation system. The corresponding-competition strategy is proposed to provide a research reference for improving the efficiency of public transportation systems and promoting the rational allocation of resources. The first two chapters of this dissertation are the research summary and the main theoretical review, focusing on the adaptability, advantages and disadvantages of rational choice theory and irrational choice theory in the application of travelers' choice behaviors. The third chapter analyzes the relationship between urban transportation system and urban form, the characteristics of circular traffic,as well as the concept, connotation and evolution of competition and cooperation theory. Then it qualitatively analyzes the competition and cooperation mechanism between rail transit loop and BRT loop.Chapters 4 and 5 are the key chapters of this article. The fourth chapter calibrates the MNL model through the RP questionnaire, and systematically analyzes the factors affecting the travel choice of the passenger within the loop in the case that the BRT has been running stably and the Metro Line 7 has not yet operated. The results show that the individual's income level has a great impact on choosing public transportation. And the arrival time and the time it takes to destination after getting off have greatly influenced passengers' choice between subway and BRT.That is,the connection level and attraction range of the site are the key factors affecting the travelers' choice behaviors. In order to expand the attraction range of the public transportation system in the ring line, according to the travel mode of “BRT system +bicycle”,this chapter presents a setting method of the public bicycle stations based on the Markov chain model, and verifies its feasibility. The fifth chapter firstly improves mental accounting theory model under deterministic conditions from the perspective of the form of value function and the integration of multi-dimensional attribute gain and loss. Then, based on the SP survey, the estimation accuracy of parameters(model goodness of fit, maximum likelihood function, hit rate)under rational conditions(MNL model)and bounded rational conditions(improved mental accounting theory model)are compared.Next, based on the operational data of the subway and BRT,which is acquired after stable operation, this dissertation compares and analyzes the gap between the predicted choice probability and the real selection probability of improved mental accounting model and MNL model. Finally, the applicability and deficiencies of the model are discussed. The sixth chapter summarizes the co-opetitive effect of BRT and subway in the "double ring" transportation system by studying the relationship between the distance of "double ring" system and the actual passenger flow.Reference value of "double ring" system spacing planning is given, and the competition-cooperation strategy is put forward, which provides research reference for planning and design management. The main results of the research include: generalizing the theoretical methods of travel behavior research, summarizing the composition and characteristics of the urban circular public transportation system, studying the attraction range of the station and stating the attraction radius reference value, and improving the mental accounting theory model and expanding its application effectiveness in the field of travelers' choice behavior;meanwhile, based on actual operational data of Chengdu Metro Line 7 and Second Ring BRT,this dissertation analyzes the deviation between the improved mental accounting theory model, the traditional MNL model and the actual choice willingness. Finally,It studies the relationship between the distance of "double ring" system and the actual passenger flow, and puts forward the reference value of spacing setting and the competition-cooperation strategy of circular corridor.
