China's economy has developed at a high speed and has now become the world's second largest economy. However, the rapid development of the economy is inseparable from the massive investment in energy. In addition, since China's accession to the WTO,the scale of foreign trade has continued to expand. Many Chinese-made products are exported to all parts of the world, and the energy consumption embodied in products is also increasing.China has now become the world's largest energy consumer and the largest carbon emitter.China has attracted the attention of all countries in the world with its huge economic aggregate and energy consumption, and it has also caused tremendous international pressure on China to cope with climate change. From the perspective of primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption, this dissertation conducts in-depth and meticulous research on the relationship between energy and economic growth, and explores the path of coordinated development of energy consumption, embodied energy consumption and economic growth. Then, promoting the scientific development of China's resources, environment and economic output, and providing theoretical basis and policy recommendations for China's energy conservation and emission reduction commitments. This dissertation takes primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption as the research object.Based on the theory of economic growth, energy economics, econometrics and environmental science, this dissertation studies from the following four aspects: firstly,on the basis of analyzing the present situation of primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption in China, the influencing factors of primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption are analyzed on the basis of kaya formula and log-mean Divisia index method. And this dissertation built a STIRPAT model of energy consumption efficiency to find the key factors to reduce energy intensity.Secondly, based on the Tapio decoupling elastic model, the decoupling relationship between primary energy consumption and economic growth in China is measured, and the contribution of economic structure to the decoupling relationship is calculated by constructing the contribution model of Tapio decoupling elasticity.Thirdly, this dissertation measures the corresponding relationship between embodied energy and economic growth by using the embodied energy consumption of the unit's import and export trade volume, and based on the Tapio decoupling elastic model this dissertation measures the relationship between embodied energy consumption and import-export trade volume, the relationship between embodied energy consumption and gross domestic product. Then, this dissertation measures the contribution of the nine major industries and the three major industries to the decoupling state.Fourthly, the decoupling effort model based on the DPSIR framework measures China's efforts to decouple primary energy consumption from economic growth in terms of improving energy structure, improving energy efficiency, optimizing economic structure, and improving population quality. Then, this dissertation measures China's efforts to decouple exports embodied energy consumption from economic growth in terms of improving domestic production technology, adjusting the structure of export trade, adjusting the proportion of export trade to GDP,and improving the quality of the population.Through analysis and research, three main achievements have been made: firstly, the log-mean Divisia index method is used to analyze the influencing factors of primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption in China. The results show that the domestic economic effect is an increase in primary energy consumption and embodied energy consumption. The key factors to curb the growth of primary energy consumption, export embodied energy consumption and import embodied energy consumption are energy intensity effect, domestic production technology effect and foreign production technology effects, respectively.Secondly, based on Tapio decoupling theory, the decoupling relationship between primary energy consumption, embodied energy consumption and economic growth is analyzed. The results show that the decoupling state of primary energy consumption and economic growth in China is mainly weak decoupling state, and the secondary industry has the greatest impact on decoupling state. The decoupling state between China's export embodied energy and export trade is concentrated in four states:strong decoupling, weak decoupling, expansive coupling and recessive decoupling. The decoupling state between China's imported embodied energy and import trade is mainly concentrated on the expansive negative decoupling and weak decoupling.Heavy industry and power industry have the greatest impact on the decoupling state of import and export embodied energy consumption and economic growth.Thirdly, using the decoupling effort model based on the DPSIR framework to measure the effectiveness of energy conservation and emission reduction measures, the results show that improving energy efficiency is the most effective measure to achieve the decoupling of primary energy consumption from economic growth, and improving domestic production technology is the most effective measure to achieve the decoupling of export embodied energy consumption from economic growth. Finally, based on all the research results, the relevant policies are proposed from three aspects: optimizing energy structure, improving domestic production technology level and optimizing industrial structure, and put forward the future prospects.
