Chinese landscape culture is an important factor of Chinese civilization in more than 4,000 years. However,in the study of Chinese landscape history, there is a case of attaching importance to the Chinese landscape and neglecting the barbarians, which makes the study of the landscape history of Liao dynasty not valued. On the one hand, the landscapes of Liao dynasty reflected the cultural customs of the Khitan people as nomadic people and the artistic aesthetics of the Khitan people on the vast grassland. On the other hand,it also reflected the influence of the Han culture of central plains as an advanced culture to the Khitan people. In the process of landscape development in Liao dynasty, the relatively backward social and cultural forms took the initiative to absorb and learn advanced cultural forms. No matter how people in the Liao dynasty chose to absorb and learn from the advanced Han culture, the Han culture had a great influence on the Khitan nomads.In-depth and systematic research to reveal and learn the thinking mode of the Liao people and explore the interweaving mechanism between the Khitan culture and the Han culture is essential for a comprehensive understanding of the landscape style and evolution rules of the Liao dynasty. Therefore, the study of the landscape Liao dynasty is not only a supplement to the landscapes Liao dynasty and the history of minority landscapes, but also a supplement to the history of Chinese landscapes. This paper is mainly divided into three parts.Firstly,by sorting out the natural and cultural environment of the landscapes in Liao dynasty,it points out that Liao dynasty was a country with Khitan nomads as the main body and extremely northern regional cultural characteristics.Nomadic culture has a strong flow and instantaneity, and the hunting has been able to meet the Khitan people’s entertainment and spiritual needs, while the landscape,as the art form of the central plains area tends to be fixed,to some extent, the landscape and the Khitan nomadic culture have a repulsive nature. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the interaction between the Khitan nomadic culture policy and the Han culture policy in the central plain existed throughout the 209 years of the Liao dynasty.Under the joint effect of the two cultures, the level of social productive forces continued to develop and experienced the transformation from slave society to feudal society. It was also based on the interweaving of culture that the landscape art was developed in the Liao dynasty.Next several landscapes by sorting out and analyzing cases, found the landscape in Liao dynasty both bold and unrestrained rough prairie nomadism culture and central plains landscape cultural characteristics of tang and song dynasty, the temple landscape scenery into the main characteristics of private landscapes in factors of production, worship Buddha for landscapeing course themes, royal landscapes in safari custom built more around the wetland ecological environment under the influence. Finally, this paper summarizes the landscape in Liao dynasty from scratch, until the full development system, puts forward Nabo culture under the royal landscapes on the Jin and Yuan dynasty, and made a profound impact on both the landscape in Ming and Qing dynasty, also has opened the prelude of imperial landscapes in Beijing, the landscape in Liao dynasty largely enriched the Chinese classical landscape multi-ethnic culture connotation.
