A critical component in contemporary architectural research is the technical-theory-based studies focusing on small testability buildings,which also present the urgent demand for advancing architectural practices in the future.In the context of systematically going through technique-related theories,this dissertation,with the philosophy of engineering as a representative theoretical instruction to examine small testability buildings,tries to delineate and reconstruct small testability buildings’ deductive path and track under a technical background.Furthermore,by exploring subjects such as small testability buildings’ unconventionality,pluralism,and openness in different periods,stages,and levels,the dissertation colligates and summarizes those distinctive phenomenal technical laws and structural features.The dissertation’s main plot and outline are as follows: it discusses concepts and contents,including the origin,evolution,dissimilation,and extension of small testability buildings,which are elaborated on from axiology,epistemology,and methodology perspectives of the philosophy of engineering.Finally,it returns to the analysis of the structural ontology technique.With the philosophy of engineering as the fundamental research framework of small testability buildings,the dissertation re-interprets and illustrates small testability buildings from a brand-new structural technique view and thoroughly reconstructs small testability buildings’ technical innovation,evolution,and dissimilation in different times,from which the dissertation deduces small testability buildings future development path.Simultaneously,the dissertation demonstrates and reinforces the creative significance and value of small testability buildings guided by structure and proposes tentatively several feasible approaches for the progress of small testability buildings driven by structural technique.The dissertation’s essential content and achievement are as follows: it systematically goes through theories regarding small testability buildings’ technical background and related philosophy of engineering,which provided vital elements as the groundwork for research;analyzes the origin of definition and the morphology of testability buildings and establishes the basic logic in deriving small testability buildings through structural lenses,that is,to evaluate structure’s primary constituents,construct,and restructure;investigates various representative small testability buildings and step by step comes up with an experimental direction for design navigated by structural integration from a historical,natural,and practical viewpoint derived from axiology,epistemology,and methodology of the philosophy of engineering;restores structure’s constituents to probe into small testability buildings’ system integration from an ontology of the philosophy of engineering perspective,and,thus,founds the complete research system of small testability buildings under the philosophy of engineering background,which contributes to small testability buildings’ directional guidance and tactics for concrete techniques’ realization.The dissertation’s ingenuity is as follows: it comprehensively dissects small testability buildings navigated by structural integration from a philosophy of engineering point of view,constructs architectural design method led by structure,and emphasizes structure as a dominant element controlling architectural form and space.The dissertation presents relatively explicit advice for domestic architectural design methods,prompts the gradual development of domestic research on design methods,and eventually fulfills the societal practical value of small testability buildings.The whole dissertation contains approximately 295,700 words(Chinese characters),35,000 of which are footnotes and references,219 illustrations,and 5 tables.
