Introduction"Tara's Materia Medica" was compiled in T ibetan by the famous Buddhist scholar Shivatso in the 8th century.It is the earliest pharmacy monograph written in Tibetan and has become an important reference for traditional Mongolian pharmacists.Since the Materia Medica is written in ancient Tibetan,and there has been no Mongolian translation,it is a pity for the vast number of Mongolian pharmacists who do not understand Tibetan.In order to meet the needs of Mongolian medicine discipline construction,teaching and scientific research,this topic was specially selected as a doctoral dissertation.GoalOn the basis of excavating and sorting out "Tara's Materia Medica" written by Shivacuo Tibetan,the Mongolian translation is carried out,and it is annotated,especially for the in-depth textual research of the source of the botanical medicine,and clear the source.Materials and methods:1.Translate the Tibetan "Tara's Materia Medica" into Mongolian,and annotate the relevant content.2.Use historical anthropology methods,biographical research methods and other research methods to verify the life of Shivacuo,the author of "Tara's Materia Medica",and review and comment on his works.3.Apply the research methods of Materia Medica to textual research on the medicinal plants of"Tara's Materia Medica".4.To compare 20st chapter of the "Explenetory Tantra" from " Four Medical Tantras" and "Tara's Materia Medica".Result:1.Shivacuo,the author of "Tara's Materia Medica",an ancient Indian,was born in 725 AD and died in 788.He studied at the Nareridra Monastery when he was young.In 767,he came to Tibet at the invitation of Tubo Zanpu Trisong Dezan and founded the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet with Master Padmasambhava,and began to translate Indian Buddhist scriptures into The Tibetan language promoted the spread and development of Buddhism in Tibet.In addition,he is also the founder of Madhyamaka Meditation.2."Tara's Materia Medica" contains a total of 238 kinds of botanicals,with detailed explanations on the morphological characteristics,medicinal parts,nature and flavor effects,and collection time of each botanical,and some of the contents are attached prescription.3.The botanicals contained in "Tara's Materia Medica" have all been verified and verified,and a detailed study has been done.4.Comparing the total of 238 kinds of botanicals contained in "Tara's Materia Medica" with the 167 kinds of botanicals contained in the "Four Medical tantras",there are 71 more kinds of botanicals,and it is found that the nomenclature of some medicines is quite different.Conclusion:1.Shivacuo,the author of "Tara's Materia Medica",was the first person to spread ancient Indian Buddhism in Tibet.Together with Tubo Zanpu Trisong Dezan and Master Padmasambhava,he founded the first Buddhist monastery in Tibetan history.Guru Padmasambhava was also introduced by him to Trisong Dezanzamp.Therefore,the spread and development of Buddhism in Tibet,as well as the formation and development of Tibetan medicine Shivacuo have made significant contributions.2."Tara's Materia Medica" is one of the earliest monographs on Materia Medica written in Tibetan,which was written later than "Four Medical tantras".However,it has not been quoted from the "Four Medical tantras",so its herbal content is unique and rich in variety,which is 71 more than the "Four Medical tantras".3.The "Materia Medica" mentioned in the ancient literature of Mongolian and Tibetan medicine is "Tara's Materia Medica".The Mongolian translation research of this document will definitely have a positive effect on the inheritance,development and innovation of Mongolian medicine.
