Shi Ben is one of the important historical records. It has an important documentary value although disappeared. The paper takes Shi Ben as its study subject and consists of six parts:The first part is the introduction. In this part, I review the studies made by previous and contemporary scholars on Shi Ben, and then I demonstrate the value of researches about the book. And I make a brief analysis of eight editions of Shi Ben in Qing Dynasty about their length, style and quality. In the last, I proposed research methods and required more attention. In the second part, I want to study Shi Ben itself. In the section I and II, I discuss some important issues of the book, such as its circulation, author, circulating editions and the lost and so on and so forth. Based on other relevant ancient records and the extant scattered writings in Shi Ben, I attempt to present a clearer development of the studies. In the sectionⅢand IV, I want to study the titles of chapter, content and styles of Shi Ben. It is known there are ten chapter titles of the book. I make a comparison of Shi Ben with The Book of Rites edited by Dai De and Historical Records, which have close relationship in literature. I try to infer the styles of Shi Ben and analyze the content of it deeply. Because the book is lost too long and the original cannot be restored again, I struggle to revalue it and attempt to be closer to the truth and tentatively return it to the original form. The section V,concerns about the value and influences of Shi Ben. The book is compiled according to various special topics. It initiates the investigations of the civilization history and society history, shows great progress in compilatory studies of history and history outlook in the pre-Qin period, and contributes to the establishment of our unified ethnic point of view.In the third part, I want to study the influence on ancient history about Di Xi. Ancient emperors have three types of myth archetype:religious belief, myth of first ancestor, and normal myth. Then, I discuss the genealogy with ancient history. It concerns four parts:the reasons about historcization of myth, the source and formation about the genealogy, and the establishment of the genealogy with ancient history with writtened by WuDiBenJi. The genealogy has an important effect on ancient history. At last, I want to study the relationship about legend pedigree and historical truth. The fourth part concerns about the historical materials about pedigree of Shi Ben, such as WangHouPu, DaFuPu, Ji, ShiJia, and Zhuan. I rebuild two lists about the pedigree of ancient emperors and the feudal princes with the historical materials about ShiBen and ShiJi. And then the value of DaFuPu has been discussed. The diffenrence about the style of Ji, ShiJia, and Zhuan has been discussed for classification of the historical materials about ShiBen. Moreover, Shi Ben has a significant influence on Historical Records in materials, styles and compilatory thought. The fifth part is the discussion about the historical materials of cognomen and city in the Pre-Qin Period. In this part, the integration about these historical materials relate with the System of Enfeoffment. Beginning and development of cognomen and city is background of ShiXing and Ju. The content of ShiXing has essential value. At last, I supply the content of Ju, and make an investigation about the geographic name of Ju.In the last part, I want to study Zuo, such as the makers in Zuo, the time when this chapter by written. The key point is the relationship about Zuo and the origination of civilization. Zuo preserves the important characteristics about chinese civilization, and it is the most valuable. And then, I study the effect on HanShuYiWenZhi with Zuo. In the last, I collect and compare with other materials related with Zuo.The above chapters are the main body of the dissertation.
