Feixian County’s Compilation Of Writings

Located in the southeast of Shandong Province,Feixian County,has a long history.In ancient times,it belonged to the territory of Shao Hao.And in Tang,Yu,Xia,and Shang Dynasty,Feixian County belonged to Xuzhou.In Spring and Autumn period,it was called FeiyiCounty,while during Warring States period,it was named Nation Fei.In Qin Dynasty,it belonged to CountyXue.From Han Dynasty to the Republic of China,the territory and the scope went through several changes.Since the year 1956,the territory of FeixianCounty began to take shape and maintain the present territory.The bibliography collected in this book was accomplished before 1949.Through the county magistrates,the scholars can study the literature,academic origin and cultural development since ancient times in FeixianCounty and save the precious facts of this place.Since its establishment,the county magistrates have been revised for several times.The existing includes:ten volumes of FeixianCountyZhi accomplished by Huang Xueqin,and edited by Chen Guijiin Kangxi twenty-eight yearsinQing Dynasty,two of the eight volumes of FeixianCounty Zhi accomplished and edited by Zhu Yue in Kangxi thirty-nine years in Qing Dynasty,FeixianCounty Zhi revised by Li Jingxiuand accomplished by Fan Honglin in Guangxu twenty-two years in Qing Dynasty,as well as the first volume of the sixteen volumes of FeixianCounty Zhi accomplished in Guangxu twenty-two years,andamended in twenty-five years revised by Li Jingxiu,gleaned by Fan Honglin,and enhanced byXie Xi.But the revises of successive dynasties of the county magistrates,were all about the catalogue of poems,not the books.This paper collects works extensively.And the books collected was 102 in total with ten books in the part of Jing(Confucian classics)including categories of Chouyi,Shangshu,the Book of Songs,Spring and Autumn Zuozhuan.It also recorded celebrities with outstanding literary achievements like Gao Jun of Ming dynasty,Li Jingxing and Guo Qiaochu of Qing Dynasty.And Li Jingxing’sworks reached twenty-eight kinds covering fields of confucian classics,history,philosphy and literature.There are thirty-three books in the part of Shi(history)including the categories of chronology,miscellaneous history,biography,genealogy,historical notes,geography,local chronicles,political books,music book and historical criticism.In these categories,the compilation of local chronicles is the most prominent.There are nineteen books in the part of Zi(philosophical writings)including the categories of Confucianism,Taoism,physician,astronomical algorithm,power tactics,art,miscellaneous,and novels.There are thirty-nine books in the part of Ji(literature)including the poetry collection,summary,poem comment and song lyrics,and among those there are twenty-four poetry collections.There are one books in the part of Series of booksThis book includes four parts.The first part is about the history and culture of Feixian County with its history and culture,the academy and the school of kingship,the mountains and rivers,the ancient city and the hometown of celebrities,the major clans and cultural celebrities to make an overview of Feixian’s history,culture and geography.The second part is about writings including writings of the natives.The third part is about government officials including political or literary achievements of the local officials.The fourth part is about Feixian’s stone inscriptions including tone,cliffs,building with Buddhism lection and jossand etc.
